The general public by and large still think RM and the Post Office are the same thing, so if IDS spun off the parcels and left the letters to someone else, would it take long before the new RM was delivering packets with the letters again? Because it's a trusted name, and (presumably) would still be visibly out there delivering things... A lot of people would still at least try to deliver via royal mail
