Why state yesterday they'll be updating union members today then say nothing, surely they could at least explain why there's been no further update or confirm if there is still going to be one tonight?

How do unworkable revisions save the company any money anyhow?

Right now, I can sit here in my flat, order something off the web right after midnight.... And Royal Mail will deliver it three or four days later. Maybe.
Or order off Amazon and get it delivered next day, or ARGOS same day, etc, etc
We're not a shop.

If the business went into administration and back under the tax payer the shareholders will be compensated as a buyout the same as Rail Track.

Believe the current share price being £2.30

Any buy out will be at the level of flotation which is £3.30

Nice profit for the corporate investor guaranteed

The Government has already given the green light for Křetínský to buy GLS
You're just making stuff up now. What is your source for shareholders 'will be compensated
as a buyout the same as Rail Track' or at a flotation price? Shareholders might get sweet FA or a few pence,
depends what the administrators can get for the company assets.

http://www.fundinguniverse.com/company- ... c-history/
The accountancy firm Ernst & Young LLP was chosen to be the administrator and reports said that a government-owned, nonprofit organization could eventually take over Railtrack's assets. This twist of events sent Railtrack shareholders into a tailspin; their shares had declined in value previously, but this unexpected turn of events had made their worth disappear altogether. Byer said that, "Any shareholder payback will be a decision for the administrators. There will be no government money to bail out shareholders." The government would, however, guarantee the company's existing debts.

and luckily for RT shareholders:
On October 11, 2001, the government announced that, although it had said it would not bail out Railtrack shareholders, it would enable the investors to get back 25 percent of their investments in the company.
and
The government during this time, stood firm, stating, "The Government feels responsible to the traveling public. It respects, admires and appreciates the great work that many of the staff in the railways do, but when it comes to compensation, the Government has made its position clear." That position was that they were not willing to pay taxpayers' money into the bank accounts of shareholders in what was a private company. It turned out that Railtrack's concern about fleeing staff was well founded as the staff exited the company in droves.

Shareholders have shares in IDS - which comprises of RM, GLS and Parcelforce - not the Royal Mail part of IDS alone

There’s no talk of IDS going into administration or folding
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Which makes talk of just Royal Mail going into adminstration sound strange. I've never heard of one part of a company going bankrupt while the rest saunter happily on. Otherwise folks would do this all the time. Load up your debt onto the bits you don't want and tell creditors to go whistle.
