I dont accept the Union are trying their best. I also don't accept some of the blame attributed to Royal Mail - that has been my position since September; nothing has changed my view. It is entirely my opinion - if you dont ike it, don't read it or put me on ignore.

The truth will out eventually; the Union are the problem not the Employer!

We have more people now doubting the Union or getting really angry with them; why it had taken them so long is mystery to me.

I think many are reaching the point where they feel that both the RM board AND the union board BOTH need to go

Thompson is the sort of moron a company would hire, if it was looking to go broke.

And by God, going by his woeful performance up to now at Royal Mail, and going by their desperately poor standards, he's been a roaring success.

20 yrs ago. Jan 2003. Royal mail wanted to put up the price of stamps as it was loosing £1.1M a day. Sounds familiar? They said they needed to to pay off govt loans and if they were refused they said they couldn't rule out administration.

Unfortunately back then there was 2nd Deliveries, A TPO network , A decent 1st Delivery span , 2 or more collections etc….

A real World Class Service.

How far we have fallen.

Why can’t u lot see this has been the plan from day one to split the business up it’s check mate and will happen it will go into admin and the spinx will buy it been a plan now a long time
Wake up
Can someone explain how Royal Mail going into administration relates to the IDS company as a whole.

My understanding is if RM is under administration, its assets/liabilities all get fenced off. So in effect IDS would relinquish ownership over it.

So why would Daniel Kretinsky then buy it, he'll have got what he wanted which is IDS owns GLS, and is no longer burdened by RM or Parcelforce. The share price will probably jump as a result.

Although somebody could buy RM after it enters administration, but they'd have to work out a viable business model first in terms of USO, pay, size of workforce.
Isn't most of the network Royal Mail ,vans, buildings ,infrastucture ,surely that will all be frozen so the parcel side would have to invest in a lot unless they have owner drivers,in my opinion a lot of delivery companies use Royal Mail as an overflow, look what happened xmas other companies were struggling and running at a 2 week delay ,if Royal Mail were going down it would have massive ramifications for the whole delivery sector and a massive effect on business and the economy as we have built our retail sector around this,if the Tories think they have problems with inflation now wait until the whole retail sector is on its knees, watch this space.
Wouldn't that help cut inflation ?

If inflation is people spending too much by removing a big chunk of the online delivery network people can't get the goods online so spend less.
Your wrong inflation is driven by higher prices with consumer demand ,demand for goods will increase if its harder to come by ,simple economics.

That should put paid to the administration rumours - he’s not upping his stake if the shares are about to become worthless.
