Re: Financial difficulties
Nope - apparently its all our fault. Nothing to do with revisions that have made units less efficient and bullying managers demoralising the workforce

Re: Financial difficulties
The problem is, this private company also has to act like a public company and serve the United Kingdom under the USO. It just doesn't work. The people in charge only think how a private company should be run..... Profit....Profit.....Profit.
Anybody can make more money by attacking the employees wages, t and c's and sick pay. I think the idea of Vince Cable was to give it extra money so it would compete in the private sector. I don't think he ever thought that a bunch of greedy bastards would bring Royal Mail to the point of oblivion.

Re: Financial difficulties
They still managed to give shareholders about £600million . The whole board should be sacked for gross negligence. They are so incompetent it beggars belief.

Not if they sack him for misconduct he won't get a penny, his lying under oath should be enough.redlen wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 17:37His contract set by the board decides his pay over say a four year term.
Just like football managers, these people have clauses in their contract that state they get paid that amount even if they leave after a short period
That is why they get a large payoff in the millions as Pay in lieu of notice

Re: Financial difficulties
Can someone explain how Royal Mail going into administration relates to the IDS company as a whole.
My understanding is if RM is under administration, its assets/liabilities all get fenced off. So in effect IDS would relinquish ownership over it.
So why would Daniel Kretinsky then buy it, he'll have got what he wanted which is IDS owns GLS, and is no longer burdened by RM or Parcelforce. The share price will probably jump as a result.
Although somebody could buy RM after it enters administration, but they'd have to work out a viable business model first in terms of USO, pay, size of workforce.

Re: Financial difficulties
Thing is this happens more than you hear about but IDS is not bankrupt morally yes but in a finical case no far from it they are shielding profit which once was earned by us all to rescue these pity little s**t heaps after the the 2008 crash. In reality non of this makes any sense but in the mind of a mad man IT DOES!norm wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 23:09Can someone explain how Royal Mail going into administration relates to the IDS company as a whole.

Re: Financial difficulties
For me, the real question is whether or not the financial difficulties have been contrived. Could there be an investigation into the deliberate mismanagement of the company, or will it be business as unusual?

By which super hubs and electric vans and the cost of temp delivery boys who are also using the vans to deliver pizza in next they will read your meter and do you line of coke or a spliff for the weekend.
But in answer it is a private ownership now thing is is they should be abiding to the regulations set by ofcom which in turn we set to regulate the service either they fell a sleep or had a bung or two to turn a blind eye and a nod is as good as a wink!

If R.M was in such a bad way why's the share price holding up... surely the ultimate determinant.
R.M is not yet classed junk status

Re: Financial difficulties
Isn't most of the network Royal Mail ,vans, buildings ,infrastucture ,surely that will all be frozen so the parcel side would have to invest in a lot unless they have owner drivers,in my opinion a lot of delivery companies use Royal Mail as an overflow, look what happened xmas other companies were struggling and running at a 2 week delay ,if Royal Mail were going down it would have massive ramifications for the whole delivery sector and a massive effect on business and the economy as we have built our retail sector around this,if the Tories think they have problems with inflation now wait until the whole retail sector is on its knees, watch this space.norm wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 23:09Can someone explain how Royal Mail going into administration relates to the IDS company as a whole.
