Pathetic as ever. At this point I'm truly convinced Thompson & McAuley are just trolling us now!

The guy is delusional the best asset RM has is it's workforce I can see that and yet this charlatan cannot see that his is a disgrace of a person and a failure of a leader it is he who is directed by the whole corrupted board of royal mail. And chief instigator of driving the workforce out and yet has a say so on how the talks progress or not because of him! If this man had one ounce of integrity he should resign now or be forever be sullied by his agender of subjugation of the masses for his pursuit of glory and enrichment!

It's strange how National Express driver's got a 16% pay rise after only 1 week of striking and we can't get a good rise after about 7 months. They did strike for continuous 5 day's though. Maybe the union should try it out.

Maybe they need a qualification and are not replaced by some punk who turns up and nicks half the stuff and does 1/10 of the work you guys/girls all do but we have idiots in charge of RM at the moment and It is getting worse by the day!

The only way these strikes will stop now is if the top table of Royal Mail resign, don't they realise the workers have had enough and dont care for their problems,if its going down its only them lot to blame .

Last time I saw that clown was on a TV select committee making a fool of himself. Simply can't even listen to these clowns now. My manager called them, Sprout Brain, Mr Negative an the Clown.
Have fun working out which is which.
It's bad when you managers don't even respect the top guys.

So we accept the changes you want and somehow you magically have money for probably a pathetic payrise and the company has no money problems no more? Funny how all these ea changes that are still going through hasn't changed or made things better. You and the other board members are liars and thieves. Do us all a favour and leave.

Yes total clowns and failures we have stranded hours in our office so a distribution driver cannot do processing work anymore which was on his duty but duty times haven’t changed so the driver is sat in canteen and there’s an agency working on more money doing what he should be doing u couldn’t make it up and that’s just 1 of 4 duties like that totalling 55 hours which I know on scheme of things is small but heard other offices are far more so across the country could be 1000 s of hours

Message back to Dicky Mc. You are the people who have instigated and antagonised your way through this dispute, you agree joint statements with the CWU and don’t honour them, you make agreements and don’t honour them, you want us to have trust and faith in your leadership! Now you wonder why CWU members are prepared to strike to the max to stop the scandalous revisions you lot impose on us. The time is coming that you and your buddies will be held accountable in some way shape or form. Don’t say you haven't been warned!

Ricky, if you read this. Here's my take on the situation. It's obvious to me the company has no money. The vans are shite, can't get uniform . What money you have got, you're spending on fancy parcel sorting super hubs......which you are coming to reason, is going to be wasted because parcel traffic is dropping off so much. We ain't in covid times any more.
Let's face it, we know, the coms know and (hopefully) you know that the revisions you are proposing/ pushing through/ already implemented, do not and probably never would, work. Even with the fairy light traffic we have at the moment. They do not work. I assume you are doing this to strengthen your case for relaxing the ball and chain, sorry, the USO?
You are going to present the case to the government, that under our current business model, we can no longer fulfill the USO and will therefore be filling for administration. The government will not want to have to take up the running of royal mail but also will not want to be seen to be abandoning the 500yr old 'public service ' with elections coming soon.
The public doesn't by and large, give two hoots if they get mail 6 days or 5 or even 3 days a week.
So in summary, you want to scrap the USO, totally remodel our broken business model, to move to 7days for parcels as long as its premium service like SD or tracked, and deliver the rest 3 days a week, Mon, Wednesday and Friday? For example. You have been testing this model for a few yrs now, starting with COVID and I'm sure that the figures came back positive as I myself know, delivering 2 days mail takes about an hr more, not 8 hrs so you must have had a big gain there.
You have tested how many of us would like to leave the business via VR, so you can show the CWU the numbers to get them on board.
Personally if this new no USO business model would be profitable I would fully back the Union helping to ease the required numbers of workers out of the business, I'm sure you'd get your 30-40,000 out for a decent one off VR package and be able to reward the ones that remain as the business would be profitable again.
A shift pattern could be 4 day weeks 9hr weekdays then 8hr alternate sat/Sunday on pks. for FT or just have all contracts at 35hrs, the PT always say they want more contract hrs.
It would be nice if all parties could be honest and open with us all though.
But what do I know, I'm just a postie with 20+yrs experience and keen interest in business and investing.
But what do I know

You make a good point about the super hubs
Parcel traffic is now in decline simply because Royal Mail are so damned expensive now. Another stamp increase has not helped.
You make a purchase on eBay as an example, they have a dedicated courier broker called packlink. They have contracts with all the major courier companies much cheaper than Royal Mail. You also have companies such as parcel monkey.
