I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
Confidentiality is not stopping the CWU from setting out their stall and they should have done so much earlier into the dispute.
The revision and reps in trouble are more recent things. The CWU even acknowledged that the revision must take place and that royal mail's finance is in a perilous state.
Why announce strike actions now - they are still talking. The CWU are clueless and living in the past...
I should add that Royal Mail has actually said previously that the CWU are not in agreement with each other and they appear not to know what they really want. I agree!
Martin's update grudgingly accepted that the militants might have their way... Which tells me that the top people at CWU are even out of touch with some of the PEC...
The CWU have not told us anything concrete but I know where I stand with RM - and if I am not happy, I can leave. But I don't want to lose my job and then get a rubbish payout or fired and rehired or go work for the rubbish competitors

They arent announcing strike action now. What dont you get?
IF talks conclude early next week without an agreement THEN strike action will be announced

So what makes you confident that the executive of RM are taking the company in the right direction?
Everything Thompson has touched has turned to s**t?
I really don’t know what both sides are playing at. What the f..k is there left to talk about. They put a statement out 2 weeks ago saying they are both committed to an urgent agreement and there’s still no deal. A bunch of numpties the lot of them !
RM are using the reps as an excuse to drag the talks out. How difficult can it be, they either acted out of line or they didn't lol
I suspect some of these reps have been fitted up by Royal Mail managers and suspended or sacked for trivial matters. Purposely done to weaken the unions influence in the workplace.
Unless it's proven to be gross misconduct surely if Royal Mail want an agreement it wouldn't cost much to bring these workers back into the workplace?
I believe the company are using this to prevent an agreement being reached because they know the union will stick up for them
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
It shows bad faith to announce a strike action whilst talking especially when you have done your worst in striking previously...
It is petulant and not constructive!
Mere announcement of strike action is damaging to the business and could potentially end the talks too...
When talks fail then do as you please but right now, it is stupid, and in keeping with their amateurish ways of operating a modern trade union.
What does the Union think a strike will achieve? Maybe, they are just announcing to satisfy the tiny militant minority?
How many times do I need to say it?*
NO STRIKE ACTION HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED
*watch him gnore this as well and continue to post the same nonsense again
They've announced they intend to strike after Easter. It's not like calling strikes has made any difference in the past!
Depends on the strikes and the backbone of some on here I guess you will pull a sickie and be out of it anyway. I thought we could get away with one or two day strikes but time has moved on so has the economy and labour is hard to find for two shillings of s**t pay. If they pay like they did not last time RM like burning boats as that is there way no workforce and little for anyone but the few at the top! I can see this whole business going under because the captains of the ship are pissed out of their minds for their own greed!
