Re: UPDATE .. Facebook + Twitter
WTF changes has been agreed or not agreed??? What is the pay deal??? Jesus, enough with the damn stringing along with the members now! If you want people to strike, now's the bloody time to start opening up about what has been discussed between both parties and how exactly bad the company is. Otherwise, 100% count me out of these strikes, be the best I can be elsewhere if you haven't even said as much after weekend.

Re: UPDATE .. Facebook + Twitter
I personally don’t care what savings Royal Mail plan to make , just get me a start and finish time and a pay rise , I couldn’t give a crap about the rest anymore.richietns wrote: ↑24 Mar 2023, 19:32He said RM aren't budging and are going for more cost saving next business year its not really that hard to work out if talks fail which they probably will over the weekend then we will be striking.rambo1 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2023, 19:26Sounds a desperate waffle with no details to me. If we could see some of the changes they have planned.......well don't tease us, just be bloody honest and tell us FFS. Pleeeeaaasse don't leave the union........well start being more open and honest with us then!!!SWIM wrote: ↑24 Mar 2023, 19:13https://fb.watch/jtHC0IjSe-/

Re: UPDATE .. Facebook + Twitter
That is just reckless to put a figure of 1% out there, even allowing for slight exaggeration. Especially with nothing to quantify it with.needadvice wrote: ↑24 Mar 2023, 19:28So only 1% of the changes they want have already been brought in? What other changes are amongst the other 99%? Deliveries in outer space?
Seems to me like RM want to go into administration. Looks like they are going to tank the company and rewrite the rulebook
They clearly ARE still in talks as they are covered by confidentiality - but they are now threatening strikes that the company haven't blinked once out of 18.

Re: UPDATE .. Facebook + Twitter
It's frustrating to see no detail in these updates, but people have to realise that if Dave started saying Royal Mail want x or y, it would jeopardise any progress that has been made in the talks (and it seems like there has been progress in some areas - Martin Walsh mentioned earlier later start times and independent review into sackings/disciplinaries).
If the talks over the weekend fail and strikes are called, I'm guessing we'll hear more about what RM won't take off the table.

Hope I’m wrong but Dave looked like a beaten man, in some ways desperate.

Yep, guessing Dave can't say any detail due to confidentiality clause, I think he mentioned that Brendan Barber said this too.eggraidonmojo wrote: ↑24 Mar 2023, 19:39It's frustrating to see no detail in these updates, but people have to realise that if Dave started saying Royal Mail want x or y, it would jeopardise any progress that has been made in the talks (and it seems like there has been progress in some areas - Martin Walsh mentioned earlier later start times and independent review into sackings/disciplinaries).

A lacklustre strike schedule would be the act of a beaten man. Let's see how aggressive the strikes arelobsterhands wrote: ↑24 Mar 2023, 19:40Hope I’m wrong but Dave looked like a beaten man, in some ways desperate.

Re: UPDATE .. Facebook + Twitter
Why not just call some strike dates now?
Another announcement that another announcement on strike dates will be made next week
Either an agreement made or call the blooming strike dates.
More dither and delay

Re: UPDATE .. Facebook + Twitter
The thing is, if they don't get that other 99% this time (exaggeration probably), then they will be after more strings next year and so on until they eventually get what they wantCucumber wrote: ↑24 Mar 2023, 19:37That is just reckless to put a figure of 1% out there, even allowing for slight exaggeration. Spot on.. just tell us what is going on your end. Because it's s**t here on the rock face.Cucumber wrote: ↑24 Mar 2023, 19:27Dave, if talks are gone and you are threatening strike action unless staff are treated better in the workplace () then where is the harm in letting the membership know what is unacceptable rather than keeping people guessing.
Without that, people won't know what they are being asked to strike for.
And they won't strike because of that.
So are you going to talk s**t with Williams forever or

Re: UPDATE .. Facebook + Twitter
And RM will use this as a sticking point that no agreement can be made until the reps cases are dealt with. Ward mentioned a few weeks ago that no agreement can take place until then and each case is different to the next and its very complex. An ideal delay tactic from RM.

Re: UPDATE .. Facebook + Twitter
Why pussyfoot over the weekend, sounds of desperation to me and yet more kicking the can down the road. More Rabbit than Sainsburys.
The CWU should have given two weeks notice for strike action today.
Does not mean it will happen
That would have concentrated the minds of Royal Mail
Seems there is more to this dispute than we are being told

Re: UPDATE .. Facebook + Twitter
It was all 'we got Brendan the Barber and the board together and we are gunna get a deal done'
Instead Royal Mail are carrying on...they aren't going to change.....
Seems we need some sort of government intervention.

I don't think there's any realistic prospect of a strike happening.redlen wrote: ↑24 Mar 2023, 20:03Why pussyfoot over the weekend, sounds of desperation to me.

The negotiations are going to fall flat by Wednesday, at which point RM will presumably announce going into administration because they haven't been able to secure a deal with the CWU, and thus can't secure the loans to see the business forward (something Martin Walsh referenced in his most recent post).
The timing of this is all very odd coinciding with the end of the financial year.
