If the business went into administration and back under the tax payer the shareholders will be compensated as a buyout the same as Rail Track.

Believe the current share price being £2.30

Any buy out will be at the level of flotation which is £3.30

Nice profit for the corporate investor guaranteed

The Government has already given the green light for Křetínský to buy GLS
Assuming that the government were to take on the running of royal mail, why would they offer the IPO price to shareholders?
If GLS is split off I doubt it alone has the Nav of IDS as it is now. Very much doubtful that GLS on it's own will have a mkt cap 50% higher that IDS does at the moment. Let's be clear if Royal mail goes into administration then the value of your IDS shares will be much less.

For me, not enough has been said about Thompsons bonus structure terms.
It came out that it’s been changed to being based on ‘shareholder value’ and Value means to me being able to buy at a good price.
You only have to look at what he and the execs have done to the company, forcing us to strike, and when he was paid £140000 bonus and his extra shares bonus.
I’ve said this for a long time, it’s all deliberate.
Shareholder value is dividends and share price going up. Nobody who bought shares at £4 is getting shareholder value here.

Martin's statement is worrying and contradictory... Strikes are no longer a good option according to him but at the same time, those that wants a strike might get the way; but at a cost!
he made it sound like even if we got a reasonable deal, Royal Mail are still screwed.

it sounded like he's giving us the heads up that we are going to get a bad deal and before we even get that bad deal - we are likely going to be striking because Royal Mail are still lying to the union and employees.

I see it more as "there is nothing left to win".

Like fighting over a town that has been bombed to bits, all that's left is blame.

I would rather sink the bastards
They won’t care. They are wealthier than we will ever be and will move on to the next cushy job. Taking down Royal Mail would not bother them one iota.

Give them time chaps. This latest union blunder is gonna take a hellll of a lot of spin. Ward is currently writing a 17 paragraph update which miraculously gives no real information. Probably go up on the Facebook feed around 8pm then Dave’s off fishing for the weekend.

You lot need to calm down. Just because the CWU has communication in their name, it doesn’t mean they need to be good at communication.

Just because they said they were updating members today, they don’t have to do it. It’s not like you are paying them…. Oh wait…. You are

If IDS goes into administration and GLS gets sold off, it won't be a golden lifeboat for stockholders. Like every other debtor, they'll be watching it float forlornly off into the sunset.
