If the revisions are designed to fail, then everyone knows it and in a way, the pressure should be off so just work to rule

Exactly this.

In my situation and many in my office everyone knew when the revisions kicked in it would make the office fall apart - I mean how can you add 100+ delivery points to duties that already were struggling crazy

Breaks
Finish on time
Rinse repeat

It is actually quite liberating once you get into this mindset

Why did this attack happen though.. did pullinger not announce in feb 22 we want a no strings payrise above inflation. then broke the ptw by announcing strike action.an thompson an co have made us suffer ever since. most people have lost between 12- 18 days pay an some annual leave dont think too many will suffer much more.

Totally agree, once they (RM) lost the staff who aren’t ‘militant’ or ‘easy pickings’ they have lost any chance of units being cleared ever again. The only way out now is RM going down the tubes.

It’s an interesting point you make, I was only thinking this morning that our handful of strike breakers have either left or are so pissed off they are working to rule as well.

I don’t get why people wouldn’t ‘work to rule’?
I keep saying that I haven’t been a union member for nearly 20 years and I have pretty much always worked to rule (apart from the early days when it was a doddle).
Iv learnt the best way to deal with a manager is not with discussion or debate but simply by informing them of your opinion that you may not complete and would they prefer you leave it or bring it back. If they start questioning I just tell them I’ll call them at 11 or 12 when I’ll know more.

I'm not a postie, but this is great advice. I guess people feel pressured into doing more. The CWU should encourage work to rule

It's clear that for whatever reason the talks have gone very quickly from getting an improved deal to saving the company and the jobs.

The financial mismanagement has come home to roost, which is ironic as our office is swamped with parcels daily.

And also the CWU kept harping on about RM's dire financial state, which led us all to believe there was a (bad) deal in the pipeline

I really do think tomorrow is going to be a turning point of no return what will happen will happen but it may never happen again if ever is it a deal a deal of the century or is it all out war from both sides. Things have been on the slide for weeks since this joint statement of intent of a deal but now is the crux of the matter how far have we got and can we gain anymore ground as they have been doing all this time. Some say on here they will not be watching but they keep coming on here and others who say it's all over is it will it ever be? and others who say we should go all out forever till a deal is reached? Well lets hope we get some answers on all this and one-way or another have some resolution and perspective on this!

In short, they haven't got anywhere and are still under the thumb of the company. Ward and co OUT!

CWU finally put an update out and not one of the replies on Twitter are supporting them. How can they not see that they have lost massive support or they now realise that then end is nigh and going to go out with a final bang. Call a strike and watch loads of postman cross the picket line because they have been let down.

And that’s probably why the company are not moving, they do get feedback on how the staff are feeling from the offices and it baffles me as to why they think it’s the unions fault, you have to remember that they are fighting the company’s proposals.

The problem we had was that The people at the top of Royal Mail are brighter and smarter than the people at the top of the CWU. They have outsmarted them at every turn and the CWU have bumbled their way through this struggle with mistake after mistake. And their members have been the people that will be dealing with the fall out.

Ask the BT staff if they have confidence with the CWU and are happy with what they got.

Royal Mail had a plan from the start and were willing to tear the company apart from the inside and mild it into a company that only cares about profits. We all know that the only chance we had was to go out for weeks at a time or work to rule, but the union decided to strike for a day, two days or rolling strikes (oh yeah, not rolling strikes because they f****d that up also)
The union are not a football team, you don’t follow them through and through. You support them when they do well and you call them out when they fail….. and they have failed.

Look after yourselves and go out and get new jobs and leave Royal Mail to implode and crash.

We all know what RM are doing to us, our terms and conditions. If anyone seriously thinks that they will stop after all these revisions are implemented they are deluded. More will follow, more will be targeted for suspension and dismissal.

This is why we have no option but oppose them for as long as possible. This is long haul.

It's not a walk in the park for the bosses. The are under severe pressure or they would have gone further already.

Anyway time to look at the smug git now.
