You want to read Rotten Boroughs in Private Eye , some rum goings on , cushy non-jobs , junkets , chauffeur driven to do's etc , no cuts or redundancies for them.

In Birmingham , Children's Home Staff had to pay for the kids food out of their own pocket and wait ages to be reimbursed by the Council . Leeds have got a national exercise in Job Evaluation with pay cuts and redundancies .
The City Council Chief Recreation Officer who'd taken early retirement got a nice £60 ph "Consultancy " for 250 hours designing the City's annual entry for the Chelsea Flower Show . I don't think she'll going to London on one of those cheap coaches overnight either . £15,000 is a nice pension top up .
