This is really unbelievable. Are things REALLY that had in RM these days. According to my mates who are still in the job, yes and no. But not delivering birthday/ mothers day cards is total bullshit. I no we always said the job had went to xxx but I think it now has. Good luck boys and girls.twoloops wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 10:13What a load of bollox, our office is swamped with mail due to executive action making walks totally unachievable, yesterday we did tracks & collections only, 100s of Mother's Day & Birthday cards left in the frames

We got told on Saturday morning to take all Mothers Day cards, even on the vacant rounds.

Heard a few in my office got letters warning them that they could be conducted for wilful delay of mail. It’s basically bully boy tactics from the management as the majority of the staff were female.

We told to prioritise tracked. We Said no. not doing tracked just so we can leave Mother’s Day cards.
We said they will be prioritised - parcels will be brought back if necessary. Manager said fine then.
How can they still be trying to force people to do tracked, when it is not company policy, but we also have our glorious CEO telling the public in parliament no less that we don’t do that.
It really is a disgrace.

The number of flowers and especially the number of cards was WAY DOWN on what you'd normally expect to pass through the system for Mother's Day.

I have never been on workplace but it's great to see people pushing back. The company is beyond a s**t show, mothers day cards are just the latest thing that shows how little they care and as always its us left to deal with the consequences.

Interesting, any comeback on this? I know these 'rogue' managers shouldn't be saying that to people but we know they do as it their bonuses on the line!Wolf91 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 13:46We told to prioritise tracked. We Said no. not doing tracked just so we can leave Mother’s Day cards.

We said we want this in writing - that you want tracked parcels prioritised over Mother’s Day cards.sixfoottwo wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 15:05Interesting, any comeback on this? He said no. Not doing that.
We said we will do what we can - but Mother’s Day cards are getting prioritised in the event of potential cut offs.
That was that.

Some sequencing batches have been really big last week but it's only been when there's been loads of council tax letters for them. Hardly seen any Moonpig cards going through. In past years on the last night shift before Mother's Day we'd have a dedicated large packet setup purely for flowers. This year we didn't need one, flowers weren't must busier than a normal nightWolf91 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 20:13Strange. Re: Is 'delay of mail' still a thing?
We have not gone on strike for ages, so Royal Mail don't have that excuse...
This whole Mother's Day failure emphasises how badly the company is performing. I hope the public see this and make it known how they are being ripped off. Mother's Day cards and flowers arriving late is a total embarrassment.
If any customers are reading this - this is the state of Royal Mail. Badly managed, purposefully understaffed. It's likely your birthday cards, father's day cards, xmas cards will continue to be late going forward....

Re: Is 'delay of mail' still a thing?
I had a fella, nice guy actually 'moaning' about his Radio times! I said sorry RM are not interested in the mail these days, all about the Tracked parcels I'm afraid told him straight how bad things have become, he replied cost me 4 quid that made me laugh
Sad state of affairs really to be honest, I remember the days when it was a hanging offense and the Gaffers back in the day used to bring out 1 letter to you if you missed it in the morning!
