It’s too late, CWU went for the old tried and tested tactics and RM. Called their bluff and now we are up s**t creek

How many of our membership can realistically survive 5 weeks without a wage.

Are they receiving strike pay?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Nobody. Unless they are still living with their parents or something.

The passport office is easy to sell off to a private company. Most work from home anyway and being on strike will make no difference to those other than lost pay. They'll still be walking the dogs and watching TV all day. Just no wages. Can't compare to Royal Mail at all.

The CWU have been mugged off by head management, just like our line managers mug us off.

Royal Mail head management have delayed any strike action by claiming they are willing to compromise, when they arent!

You can't negotiate with liars. Keep striking until they see sense - which is probably when they kick Simon Thompson and co out of the company....
if it takes years or the company collapsing - so be it!

I’d rather the strikers collapsed financially. The idea that 100,000 lose their jobs just so these CWU loyalists can pretend they are being militant to the cause is the opposite of solidarity. It’s insanity.

Why? Because I disagree with folk who think that the company burning to the ground is a better option than accepting a deal?
If you hate the job that much go to Aldi. They have better wages now and you don’t have to walk 10 miles a day! And they did that without a prominent union.

People need to stop talking about profits we made last year and look at where we are now. The money has gone. Who is responsible for that is a different matter but all of this talk of endless strikes and constant moaning is pointless. The CWU know this now. It’s members seem to have been suckered into this alternative reality where they can’t see past the end of their nose.

To be fair, Aldi have risen their wages to attract workers as there is a labour shortage. I agree with your other point though - people wanting to burn the company down rather than compromise are barmy.

I wonder then if that’s royal mails plan. Instead of offering pay rise to attract workers due to shortage that are offering little to get rid of excess?
