60 in 6 months

Am I right in thinking that I will be sent my estimates any day now with me reaching 60 in 6 months? Thank you.

They get in touch with you 4 months before your 60th to let you know what your options are

When you’re approaching your NRA60 or NRA65 they will contact you 6 months before.

I am approaching my 65th birthday. It is in mid May, but I've heard nothing from either pension? Should I be worried?

Basically, I took VR, and my final day will be the 25th of March. I DID get a letter from one of the pension administrators asking if I wanted to start taking my age 65 pension on leaving the business, but as it was only a matter of a few weeks between leaving, and reaching 65, I ticked the "No" option. (I can't remember if it was literally a tick box, but basically I returned the part declining an early pension).

The letter contained no details regarding actual figures though. I was only a simple yes or no. Had I ticked "Yes" there would have been a lot of complicated looking questions, which is probably why i declined at that time.

So, with 8 weeks to go before reaching 65, and two weeks until I leave Royal Mail, I'm a bit confused as to my next step?

I guess because I've heard nothing, my pension payment date will be delayed? And presumably, I will have to contact them? Or is it a different situation when leaving under VR?

Your NRA65 should still have been scheduled to start in May, and as the process can be quite long winded, it should have started by now.
Infact they really should have contacted you back in January/February at the latest, regardless of your VR.

Yes, I was beginning to wonder. Specially in light of the above post! The fact that neither the RMPP or the RMSPS had been in contact made me feel somewhat more confident, but now it looks like I'm going to have to chase them up. Thanks again.

I’ve just found some correspondence from pensions that has put me right. It says 6 months before 60 they will write to me to say I can have my pension benefits soon , then 4 months before I’m 60 they will send me my figures.

Yes they require you to submit that you have another pension with Capita.

That’s why in another thread I hailed the demise of the LTA purely in our pension scheme nothing else!.
Either whether you receive or ask for quotes & because they’re incapable of communicating between themselves BEFORE the both sets of forms are sent out by RMPP & RMSPS. You are then required to ring back again to receive the LTA figures which I might hasten to add are the only ones who have knowledge of your LTA figures for you to apply those figures onto the necessary form before you can return them..
As I said before absolute shambles.
