"stand by each other"
Our DO is back to "every postie for themselves," some fighting over overtime, others dragging their heels as much as possible and hindering everyone else who just wants to do the job and go home
What do you mean hindering everyone? Is your start and finish time not the same as others or are you trying to finish early?
I mean... (And this is 3 of the 5 people I've worked with this week) refusing to help with sorting, taking their 20 minute break in office despite taking at least 30 mins of "just having a fag/ just grabbing a coffee/ just chatting to so and so" breaks while expecting someone else to put their work in, then doing the bare minimum when out (finishing a walk and having a ciggie for 5 minutes each loop, cutting off 40 minutes early and driving the scenic route back with a bunch of undelivered mail and packets that definitely could have been finished in time and still left time for a break)
I fully get the "don't give them an inch" attitude, but if you're deliberately bringing work you could have finished back for the next day to "prove a point," you're only really messing up yourself the next morning. Royal Mail make the job unnecessarily difficult as it is, don't make it worse
Management sounds like a good path for you .

So disappointed with the Union and of course royal mail. For weeks the union have given us false hope that a deal may be close, and we're at square one still. Also they keep spouting bullshit like, "win the ballot, win the dispute". We won the ballot, and are no closer to a deal. Just keep getting people's hopes up, and deluding members to the truth.
This. I think a lot would agree with you there. What number deadline are we on now?....

If we were ever going to strike again, it would have been called by now.

It's not gonna happen now.

We won't be given that option because an agreement will be reached that we aren't happy with and will be the end of this union because we have nowhere else to go.

Royal Mail have the whip hand and we're being softened up by delay after delay in receiving the inevitable outcome.

We still have to vote it in, if its absolutely shite I'll be voting no but I know others may vote it in.

My own opinion any more strikes a were all done for.
Call them and see if it focuses their minds. It’s been s**t or bust time for a while anyway, let’s just get on with it.
Cwu don't want any more strikes just think there update is full of contradictions either they are close to a deal or miles away wtf have they been talking about past few weeks with these board members. stop effing members about an tell us all the truth one way or the other.

I’d love to be delivering Mother’s Day cards tomorrow. I’ve been told to leave all mail behind and take my packets and the packets from another walk, nowhere near mine.

Things went beyond any point of return in our office weeks ago.

If we were a stand alone company in our office the bailiffs would have been round ages ago.

This is not a dispute. A dispute is where two sides have opposite ideas and are willing to negotiate. This is an agenda by RM.

Thats exactly what it is

Royal Mail pushed the Union into strike action and every they met in negotiations the company talked of more proposals. They went to the media and announced 10,000 compulsory redundancies and then employed over 11,000 agency workers. Once the agency workers disappeared after Xmas they shifted their stance to voluntary redundancies. Then they introduced un-agreed Revisions into the mix which led to a date being set for strike action.

If I've got the timeline right, RM will now release their accounts which will reveal how many millions the business has lost this financial year due to electric vehicles, automation, managerial redundancies, the salary upgrade of line managers to COMs on £42k+ per annum, thousands of agency workers being paid to sit in canteens drinking coffee, bonuses for managers to go into work as usual and work Sundays and strike action.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

"OUR BUSINESS TO RUN" EQUALS....

1. BULLY STAFF.
2. BULLY REPS.
3. PUSH STAFF TO WALK 15 MILES A DAY AND DESTROY THEIR BODIES.
4. SCREW THE CUSTOMER OVER.
5. SCREW THE PUBLIC OVER.
6. MAKE TERRIBLE DECISIONS AND LOSE THE COMPANY TONNES OF MONEY.
7. BUT GLORY TO US RICH AND WEALTHY PEOPLE AT THE TOP.

Where have they said this? The last video from Dave and Andy this week said we would take strike action if we had to.
