If you are responsible for an accident your insurance premiums will increase. If you are not responsible for it and it would be in RM's best interests for this to be the case then your premium would not increase. Just imagine your driving your brand new Merc or BMW, or back in the world we live in, your brand new 20 year old Skoda, and you'll drive like a pro.

Separate question, do professional drivers pay more or less in insurance, you know HGV, bus, taxi, driving instructors, etc.

This applies even if you are driving a company van, car, your mates car, whatever. If it's your fault your insurance company class you as a greater risk and adjust your premium accordingly. If you have lots of accidents driving a Royal Mail van, your private car insurance, should you have any, will quite rightly go up.

This applies to everybody, company reps, taxi drivers Asda van drivers etc etc.

If you have an accident you are a greater risk, it's as simple as that.
That being the case, one would expect a responsible employer to pay a Driving Allowance or experience difficulty filling driving vacancies. l
