Re: An alternative view
I think the problem with the discussions is that nothing from both parties can be revealed until a final agreement has been made. Releasing information would jeopardise the agreement, but at the same time members are getting frustrated with the lack of communication.
This has been the longest dispute and this is no fault of the union as royal mail have been ATTACKING the members from day one. A resolution must be done correctly and not to be rushed through or the members will resent.
Sticking points for myself and others would be sick pay, starting times being reverted back as I don't see any change on the amount of volume of parcels that are going through the network. Sunday shifts being offered on schedule attendance or covered by a new start. PDA actuals need to be used properly instead of a manager pestering you every day why there was 15 minutes of dead time in total.
Patience is key, and I know something has to be resolved before the financial year or we won't see any back dated money.

Re: An alternative view
If a deal has taken this long it better be an actual deal of the century and not some **** deal, or guess what Martin, it will not be getting voted in, I hope the union understands that

If it doesn't get voted in do you expect RM behaviour to change at all? It will just be more delay to a pay deal.

Re: An alternative view
if they do go the same way as Lehman Brothers or Woolworths.....
Then it's highly likely the government would take them back into public hands, which highly likely would mean far less bullying and harassment and potentially a massive win.

You can't spend, it when you're dead mate! that's the way it's heading, you need to wake up and smell the coffee Pal.
T&C's are more important for the vast majority in my office.

Royal Mail finances may be dire.
But as a group is the same true? The balance sheet I imagine is healthy as IDS.
You can see exactly why they didn't want to cross subsidise.
Why no RNS from the company regarding the state of finances if that bad?

Re: An alternative view
had the area rep telling us RM have stated that if the hours dont come out with all these revisions, then it will go into administration next month. CWU HQ believe this is extremely serious and credible. i tell you what, .....if that statement is true, then the whole RM board should be in jail for embezzlement. we were in profit to the tune of 758 million last May. and WE haven't lost it. and the strikes didn't cost that. they are an absolute f***ing disgrace. why has Thompson been allowed to do this. He cost billions with the track and trace fiasco. Sack him, and put them all in the nick. c***s

Re: An alternative view
There's no halt to E/A at ours either.as much as 70% of mail failing daily.
Prioritisation of tracked and parcels still enforced.
Most senior targeted and reserves.
Same story all over.

Absolutely true that most senior are being picked on.Go to any office and look at the people have lost duties.Seems to me a blatant ploy.

Re: An alternative view
Why would you want to halt the revisions if they company are in such dire straights then?
