It would seem Royal Mail are biding there time to get their revisions through then will agree some kind of pay rise.

they know these revisions are going to fail anyway. they WANT them to fail. they KNOW they will. so they can go cap in hand to the government and say they can't manage the USO and they need to got down to 5 days. its as plain as day.

Any truth in this? If you fail your deliveries you recieve a letter, if you fail to complete the delivery on the 2nd day its conduct and if you fail 3 times you are facing dismissal.

I'd honestly hate to be a local rep right now because I'd be absolutely livid by this. Completely ignored and shitted on by management and doing whatever the hell they want and getting it in the neck by floor staff on changes being made. And then this gem basically saying no unagreed changes will be made. So what? You guys up at the top of the CWU agree with them??? This is bad on both sides of the fence, ST and board not listening to it's workforce and CWU not hearing out it's members on what's been going on since the Joint Statement. They REALLY need to start being honest with us now, cuz I'm starting to feel the same shady vibes I get with RM now with CWU. And guessing this is a stall tactic so they can get through the next financial year and turn around and say there is no money so no back pay for yous and please accept this inferior deal we offered you months ago!

But surely you cant just give everyone an impossible workload and then declare “oh we cant manage the USO”? It cant be that easy surely?!

Yep. Good insight. I think the company needs to hit rock bottom before RM want a deal (the deal they really want)

So youre faced with that dreaded time of day where you realise that youre gonna have to stop delivering any letters in order that you can just drive around delivering all the tracked that you have left for each loop.

Do the tracked first then you don’t have to think about it.

Unfortunately we are now seeing far to many long service posties leaving the business never to be replaced and those left have to pick up the slack or leave like the rest USO will be null and void no matter what deal is produced because EA will not be reversed and the man at the top will just filling his pockets

they pulled 4 duties out of the office and carved them into extra workload for all the other duties, knowing full well, if you are struggling to get done in your time now or going over each day, how the hell are you going to get done by adding another 200 houses onto the duty? they KNOW EXACTLY what they are doing. its their hidden agenda, except its not hidden, we all know all over the country the revisions are going to fail.

People getting in the Union’s back and threatening to pull membership will only help RM. If it is a deliberate play then you are falling for it.
Look, this has been a long, nasty dispute, it wasn’t ever going to be easy to settle so give em time to do it. I’m sure if the Union thought they were being deliberately delayed they’d pull out and announce more strikes so there must’ve been solid progress. What’s another couple of days if they can get it over the line. If you don’t like it then vote no. A little adult patience please.
As for revisions, just stick to your times and breaks. Ours has gone in, the office is never clear with almost all finishing on time and all good will gone. It doesn’t work but that’s RM’s problem, they’ve created it.

Agree, I’m staying off this forum until there is a deal , I’m bored with it now.

I'm no longer on here hoping for a deal, I'm on here to wise up to RM's tricks, but I agree, refraining from this forum a little will help ones mindset and just accept the fact that this will be a long dispute and just do your time and nothing more and not wish for a peaceful end anytime soon because this saga needs to be played out. I think this latest round of talks was RM's last chance of getting the workforce on side. But now we know, this needs to get even more bitter before it gets better

That is a very downbeat line and implies that a deal is far from being reached. I'm really surprised how anyone could publicly declare 12th march as the day that both sides will come to an agreement. Unless one party waves the white flag, setting a specific date like that just infuriates people even more. I would imagine RM gave the CWU the impression by this date, an agreement would be reached and then refuse to strike a deal with the goal on infuriating members

It is likely purposeful from Royal Mail. It is a great tool to demoralise by giving the impression that a deal is close only to back out at the last moment. They realise that the union is reluctant to call further strike action, so they automatically have the upper hand in that regard too. The CWU is being played.

And to be fair to CWU, if that is the case, then what could they do if RM are not serious about negotiating, they have to give talks a chance even if RM are not serious. I think we may have to hit rock bottom before a deal is even realistically negotiated by both parties. RM's agenda needs to be played out before they want a deal

Its easy to say “oh well Simons said we don’t prioritise parcels” etc, but when your manager is saying to your face each morning to make sure all your tracked are done even if that means bringing back thousands of letters . . . its just not that simple.

We get told the same thing, prioritise tracked is the mantra in our office.

It just means we literally do 1 walk and cut off and do the Tracked, we then just bring any letters/standard parcels back, works well much less strenuous for us as less walking is involved!

I am well aware we should not be making Tracked the priority but I am not fussed as I work my time and that's it.
