Bracing myself for a ground breaking deal with plenty of strings attached and a piss poor pay increase. Sugar coated with a lump sum to entice everyone to vote it in.

Tell the manager before you leave that you may struggle to complete and what does he suggest.
Then at 11 or 12 call the office using the PDA because at that point you should know if you can complete or not. Ask what he suggests again. If his answer means you going over you just inform him you are working to your time and will return any items back to the office for him to sort out (end call.)
(Make sure you do your van check and have your lunch and don’t come in early for free.)

Don’t speak to them in the morning and wait for them to give you a long waffle answer. State you don’t think you’ll be able to complete and then inform him you will be only working to your time and you will call them later when you have a better idea. Don’t argue with them. Don’t get stressed.

It’s important to have your colleague with you when you speak to them so if they do call you in the office next morning you can remind them that you told them in the morning and the afternoon.

Don’t just bring stuff back without informing them. Don’t argue with them. If they start questioning You just interrupt and say “ok, I’ll call you later when I know more.” And then walk away.

I might be a strike breaker but iv learned over the years how to deal with managers. Don’t give them ammunition. Don’t give them time for free. I couldn’t give a flying F#&k about a deal now. Left the union, don’t get involved in the bitchin in the unit anymore..I’ve quietly quit, I arrive at work on time as I’ve always done, I then tell the Com I might struggle to complete. She normally replies “how do you know that, you’ve just walked through the door” I reply with just giving you as much notice as possible. :shhhhh As requested. I refuse to work overtime, I prioritise tracked as instructed, I do about 40% less steps a day compared to before them removing my duty. If I get a payrise brilliant if I don’t I’ve already budgeted for my current wage.
Life is so much more enjoyable as a quiet quitter :nana :nana

I’ve got 29 more shifts to do then I’m gone for 6 months unpaid to sort my life out and not come back. 6 months unpaid is just my safety net. Due back at the ‘best’ time. 6/11/23. Hahaha.

Unless these duties are shortened, they will NEVER be cleared. We've been told no more hours going back into office, or any new starts. RM get what they desire, running the company into the ground. Unless the snivelling government take us back on board their sinking ship - I'd go for 5% not backdated and maybe £300 + lumpy. The CWU will agree to everything that RM will say/ claim financially and see us in a put up & shut up situation. Can I claim compensation as I believe the Union is acting unlawfully calling themselves 'Communication' £ £ my reward please.

Whatever "deal" is struck I have no trust in RM sticking to it for more than a couple of months (weeks, maybe.) Revisions happen, stamp prices rise, mail drops even more and come June we are all being asked to take out more lapsing while the board start honking on about average walk speeds and "rightsizing" again.

How much of a bonus will those at RM responsible for striking a deal give themselves afterwards?

I expect them to say revision not finished and postponed for another week until management push through 90 percent of what they originally wanted as Royal Mail pleads more poverty and union backs down
