Todays the day
So, here we are on the day we have been led to expect talks to conclude on the pay dispute. Do we expect to be sold down the river in a surrender agreement? Or do we expect a reasonable deal that addresses most of our differences?

I expect a very short statement of the CWU saying a deal is close but talks will continue next week!

I try to remain positive. But you can't polish a turd!
I'm sure we can't really expect anything that will compensate us for the ammount of grief Royal Mail have caused us over the last year.
It's going to be a damage limitation excercise, we're all going to be getting more work and I believe it's really in the individuals hands how they deal with it. My Advice "Work Properly", Cut Off on your time and bring it back (including Parcels & Tracked).
The annoying thing is we haven't even heard anything about any proposed wage increases, and it's nearly the end of ANOTHER Financial year, I suspect another RM stalling tactic to avoid backdating any increase. Probably to the end of the "Last" Finacial Year (when they agree it one week into the next one)!

As usual the “communication” is shocking if there’s not going to b an something today, then tell us and if there is an announcement ffs give us a time, I usually get an email the day after any event reminding me to tune in! honestly get the feeling the cwu are dead in the water and know this and have just dragged out 6 months of extra subs. This needs to be 11% with immediate effect (new tax year) and 5% (at least) backdated.

I admire your optimism however I feel you should prepare yourself for extreme disappointment. Absolutely no way they are going to effectively lock in an 11% wage bill increase for ever from this point on. Not a chance. That's an extra £400million every yr from now on.heraldmoth wrote: ↑12 Mar 2023, 08:03As usual the “communication” is shocking if there’s not going to b an something today, then tell us and if there is an announcement ffs give us a time, I usually get an email the day after any event reminding me to tune in! honestly get the feeling the cwu are dead in the water and know this and have just dragged out 6 months of extra subs. Re: Todays the day
Honestly people...... i know everybody is tying themselves in knots trying to figure out what is going on, but give us all a break from this union bashing and doom and gloom. You will get a vote on whatever we are offered and can let them know your opinion on the offer with your vote. Speculation is just feeding the fire of stress and worry with some of the posties with no basis except your opinion and i fancy some of you always will have the "Wind in your face" and never see a positive in anything. As for the job itself, we probably need to have a change in how we as posties think in terms of achievable duties, they do want you to finish the duties just not before your finish time therefore getting full value for their money, which is fine by me but means a mindset change for all of us, gone are the days of finishing early but on the other hand gone are the days of working late unless you want to. They rely on your guilt for not finishing a duty you have finished all your RM working days to try to keep you out later, i have been through it and just said to myself "Why am i doing this" and stopped, informed my Dom/Dim that i would no longer be working over my time under any circumstances from now until i retire/leave. He took it well and we have some interesting phone calls deciding what to leave but it works for me and stress levels have fallen dramatically. In the end you must do whats best for you and your circumstances.

Re: Todays the day
We have been told we will be conducted if we can’t complete. We have all been given up to 2 hours extra delivery. We are all expecting a warning letter this week. Getting worse by the day.
