A no vote is pointless and won’t happen, whatever the union come back with, that’s them saying that’s as good as it gets.enskied wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 21:22I think the same, my thoughts are definitely a no vote.walthmstowman wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 13:21Whatever this deal turns out to be, you just know it will be bad .
But we have to wait and see what they actually come up with.
Maybe ?

Generally what the union advice normally gets voted in but there was one occasion I remember where the vote was a no one. Think it was 20 years or so ago for the way forward agreement. The second ballot was voted in after an improved offer.

And we can say no. Dave Ward isn't the union.chickenwittle wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 22:03A no vote is pointless and won’t happen, whatever the union come back with, that’s them saying that’s as good as it gets.enskied wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 21:22I think the same, my thoughts are definitely a no vote.walthmstowman wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 13:21Whatever this deal turns out to be, you just know it will be bad .

A s**t deal is a s**t deal. There's no sugar coating a s**t deal, any s**t deal will get a no votechickenwittle wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 22:03A no vote is pointless and won’t happen, whatever the union come back with, that’s them saying that’s as good as it gets.enskied wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 21:22I think the same, my thoughts are definitely a no vote.walthmstowman wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 13:21Whatever this deal turns out to be, you just know it will be bad .

Re: What do you think/have heard the deal will look like?
I think it was the opposite way around, but it was a long time ago.
To my recollection, the majority voted not to strike in the ballot. I could be wrong.
Whatever the Union comes back with is the best they could get, and think it's acceptable to put to the membership, and we vote on it. If not then we will be striking. It could even be that it'll be put to us without recommendation by the Postal executive.
All this ..... I'm pulling out of the Union if we don't get this or that is just silly. The reason we are where we are is the majority of us are in the Union. Imagine what it'd be like if it was the opposite way around?
By the sounds of it, a lot of people on here have given up and are looking for excuses to blame someone.

It would be catastrophic for both RM and the CWU.
In that situation not only would Simon Thompson’s position become even more vulnerable / untenable, so would Dave Ward’s.

Re: What do you think/have heard the deal will look like?
That's the way I remember it happening too, they negotiated what they considered a brilliant offer, we voted no, they, the union were surprised, they went away talked a bit more and they came back with a slightly improved offer and we voted it in!

It won’t because the union will work us over with the hard sell and it will get voted through because the workforce are fatigued from the dispute and want it settled.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Mar 2023, 07:11A s**t deal is a s**t deal. Disagree, I think we’ve come too far now for a shite deal to be accepted, plus they’ve lied all the way through this and shafted us at every turn. We the workers are still angry……..shite deal = a NO from me…..chickenwittle wrote: ↑11 Mar 2023, 10:53It won’t because the union will work us over with the hard sell and it will get voted through because the workforce are fatigued from the dispute and want it settled.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Mar 2023, 07:11A s**t deal is a s**t deal. Re: What do you think/have heard the deal will look like?
This forum has shown over more than 15 years and multiple deals that even if posters are being genuine it doesn't represent the views of the majority of the membership.
Every poll we've run before a vote on every deal has been way off the mark.
The only remote possibility of a PEC endorsed deal being defeated is if some of the major branches especially in London step out of line.
Otherwise it's a slam dunk no matter what anyone on here thinks of it.

Re: What do you think/have heard the deal will look like?
I don’t see how these talks can magic up an acceptable deal when the gulf between the two sides is huge. The way forward is announce a one week all out, bring the company to its knees. They might then start to realise they are nothing without a happy workforce.
