They specifically instructed offices facing imminent executive action to use a Rule 13 and informed them that the national change ballot would cover them as far back as October.

So.... Yes.
Where agreement cannot be reached by Friday 10th March 2023 the Unit will move into a fast-track escalation process outlined in section 8 of this joint statement.

So they are now saying there will be a fast-track solution to any disagreement.
Where will a rule 13 ballot be sanctioned?

Agreement by next Friday.
This is the jointly agreed process.
A Rule 13 ballot would be a reaction to executive action.
The fast track process is designed to stop both happening.
If a manager decides to ignore the process and force through a revision that will trigger an appropriate response obviously.

Girvan in Ayrshire could possibly be the first test, apparently the local manager intends to proceed with the unagreed revision on Monday.
I believe it's already triggered a "flashpoint".
We'll see if the joint statement has teeth.

Apparently Newcastle MC walked out today.

£768 million profits..... to absolute shambles.

Just because costs have gone up a bit and mail down a bit.

They've paid us a 2% pay rise, but upped their prices by 10%+ whilst reducing their workforce massively.... this must have compensated for their extra energy bill/fuel costs.

Yet somehow they are struggling and Thompson is still in a job...... make it make sense.

Our office is massive and they blast the heating on and leave lights on all day while there's 10 people in the building for 4 hours. They need to use their loafs more.

Meanwhile customer collections are free? how many of them do we do a day, start charging for it!

Well this will happen as the whole system is built on management bonuses and they want their cut. Thing is if they proceed they can be dismissed just as anyone disobeying an order and they should all know by now!

We aren’t collecting for free. They are paying the increasingly more expensive postage still. It takes seconds out of our day to collect them, and if it generates business and income, the better for us all. I’m glad they are increasing. We want more people to send parcels via Royal Mail.

11. There is huge tensions in the field. A lack of trust at all levels and remember it will take time for those managers who have been told for months it is their business to run and they don’t need the union to change and suddenly abide by mere words.
I think this is the biggest problem, they all think they have been given abit of power to do as they wish and now the board/senior management can’t get them back in line. They think they have a license to do as they wish and as Thompson has no respect/authority at any level they are carrying on regardless. What happened to the Thompson out campaign by the way?

They are now pretending its a huge win because he is now not part of the RM negotiations team

Despite him never being part of the RM negotiating team

As the union used to repeatedly state not so long ago - and that he SHOULD be in the room
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Exactly and in doing so got huge bonuses for doing so. I have posted for years on here about the bonus culture and no one batted and eyelid!

Martin, the union has basically green lighted the huge increase in workload that these revisions will bring. Lots off in ours with stress due to this, it’s unbearable pressure that is causing huge mental health isssues for many of your members. Shame on you, shame on Dave Ward, shame on the PEC and shame on the CWU.
I’m logging off this forum for a couple of weeks and going to try take my mind away from RM stuff I can’t stomach anymore.
