Where’s the joint statement they hoped to put out? This better not be Dave rambling for 45 mins about how talks are positive and there’s been a change in dynamics blah blah blah. This has all went on too long we need something concrete one way or the other today.
Pause
Reflection
Different tone
Progress

Meanwhile at the coal face members have had their life turned upside down.

Probably their best and final offer again but with a few more knobs on.

EA stopped or we strike. Surely.
And reversed.
Indeed.

No point in just stopping it. We've got several staff handed their notice in due to the EA being the final straw for them.
Same at ours, really good lads and lasses with 20+ years in throwing the towel in, one goes tomorrow and he's a top fella whos really good at his job, sad to see.
Same at our place, the damage has been done. This statement will be more flannel, progress made, we've had assurances blah blah

I am not sure why people are saying a deal will be announced :hmmmm from what I gather this is purely regards EA and Rep suspensions THEN you talk about a deal surely?

What I don't get is how that would take day after day to resolve?

I mean it's a simple enough discussion.

Fingers crossed 🤞 Easter Weekend strikes
Why would you want more strike action over a deal? Absolute madness.

exactly - it doesn't bode well for the 3 week timescale if something that was given a deadline of Monday this week overruns by 3 days.

As usual these “big updates” only affect a select few I’d like to be proved wrong and maybe we will get a big update because to be honest nothing has moved on since august in my eyes

Tens of thousands have been affected by EA, suspensions etc in the past few months.

Simon Thompson and Dave Ward are going to go live at 5.30pm holding hands and smiling. Thompson will apologise for the past year of his nonsense. They will both set off fireworks and announce no changes will happen and everything will be reversed. There will be a 50% pay rise for all posties. Everyone will get a brand new electric van that will be washed everyday by a male or female model of your choice in a bikini or shorts as you enter the yard from your round. After your days work you will have free access to an on-site spa with masseuses, swimming pool, jacuzzi and stream room so you can recover from your 10 mile+ walk.
