Small packet/Tracked sorting
Apart from MCs with PSMs where they seem to just whack the normals and Tracked through together, does any MC manually sort all Tracked and normals together? So many sleeves now from other MCs are a complete mix of Tracked and normal, so I don't think it';s just MCs with PSMs that are doing it

Try Atherstone Parcel Hub which uses agency drivers and anguard workers.

Re: Small packet/Tracked sorting
We don’t have a PSM at our MC and process normal and tracked separately. Obviously many Yorks are mixed so if it looks mainly normal it goes to packet processing who (nornally!) pull out the Tracked packets. Every normal bullring has a sleeve for Tracked which is sent to the Tracked area.
The Tracked processors normally don’t bother pulling out normal packets if they get a mixed York - unless it transpires that the Tracked are mainly on the top and the rest of the sleeve looks mainly normal stuff. That York would then get passed to packet processing who will pull out any Tracked as before.
When it comes to bag tipping, we are finding more and more bags labelled as Tracked but in reality are about 90% normal packets. So when tipping Tracked bags we try to seg the normal and Tracked as we go along - as do those who cut and tip the normal bags.
As I said above, we don’t worry about a few normal packets going into Tracked sleeves for dispatch, but do our best to avoid any Tracked being missed and thrown into a normal Sleeve.

Re: Small packet/Tracked sorting
For us each belt doing normals has a sleeve for any Tracked and each belt doing Tracked has a sleeve for any normals. The roads for normals also have a mini for any Tracked that have slipped through, though that doesn't do anything for the direct selections on the belts. Both belts doing Tracked and belts doing normals have got yorks for any large (normals larger and Tracked large get sorted together). Often when sorting on the large you can ned up sending half a yorks worth over to the smalls

Re: Small packet/Tracked sorting
We have a PSM
Early shift work plan is tracked 48 first then 2c on top
Once that is done dispatched then switch to available inward which is all mixed together T48/2c/dsa
All rejects/ Ejects are sorted manually and mixed together

Re: Small packet/Tracked sorting
I'm starting to think that it's only a matter of time before RM get all MCs to sort Tracked smalls and normal smalls together instead of keeping them separate
