Forcing staff to move to another office

I’d expect they’d need to do that as a consultation and go through a proper process.

Check your contract for a ‘mobility clause.’

That would no doubt be what RM would be relying upon in this circumstance, but any relocation would have to be ‘reasonable’.

Frustratingly the term ‘reasonable’ is a classic wishy washy legal term that can’t be clearly defined in any given circumstance… but if RM were to insist on you moving office and you could build a case to show it was an unreasonable request then you could go down a constructive dismissal route.

I’d certainly get local CWU reps involved if the above does materialise.

It depends if your contract of employment has a specific mobility clause.
About 2015/2016, they started inserting them for all new starters. But it will be irrelevant if the travelling distance is reasonable and your contracted hours do not change.

Always thought they could move me on 'operational needs' but theyve never done it. Definitely the reps job IF the temps are retained over RM staff, bloody cheek. Intetesting situation to keep watching, good luck and hope you all stay in your offices.

I was wondering what they would push through next. Nothing is surprising now. As the previous post said. Agency staff should go first. If not it should be brought up at the next mp meeting.

We have been told they are going to fill the place with agency to cover all our cut offs from last weeks botched revision.

If you get up early, you can actually do a fair bit before going to work at that time.

2 to 10 shift in a mc not much fun either.

I get shipped around a 35 mile diameter anyway covering 7 offices. It's horrible not knowing where you'll be until 7am on the day or being sent from one office to another.

My small main office is losing a round, so there will be people spare.

If you get up early, you can actually do a fair bit before going to work at that time.

I find that a struggle.
