It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

DHL - Cruel but probably true. Thing is postman, I've been a postie longer than many on here and in the old days, the suspension on the vans was nothing like it is today - stuff would bounce about all over the place. Come to think of it, the way some of the blokes in my DO throw stuff about. People are unrealistic when they package some items though and the further it has to go, the more likely it is to take a knock. Packaging materials are better than they used to be so theres no excuse really but poeople still expect us to pay out for shoddily wrapped items. We've all seen it.
