Royal Mail do not track staff-yeah right

People shouldn't be stopping for over an hour on delivery, defending this stuff plays into Royal Mail and Thmpson's hands.

40 minutes meal relief.

20 minutes "stopping" on to of that, on a 5 hour delivery? Easy.

Customer discussions, sorting out stuff in your van, quick breather, putting clothing on or off, waiting for a lorry to reverse. Etc etc. Just a normal day. Job would be impossible without it.

Setting up trolly, loading bags, removing docket left packets from bags. Checking pockets of bags, making sure packets are properly endorsed, folding trolly putting it back in van, easily can lose 20 minutes in a day.

We have lad that’s been taken off the walk he picked, because he cannot complete in the time given, his full time partner has kept his walk? Talking to him today he had been shown data on the PC from line manager telling him he should be completing in the time given?

How can parter be getting done at a different time? They get a van each? I didn’t think you could just get hauled off a walk.

That happened to someone at ours ,must be 10 years ago now,they were taken off their delivery as management said they were too slow, not one person was able to complete it without overtime afterwards

My partner was taking off me months ago because he's old and considered slow and it didn't get completed and guess what it still hasn't and loads of people have had a go!!

So someone get threatened to be taken off their duty because they're "too slow", that used to be one of management's bullying tactics, what happens next does the caring com put them on something easier to look after their best interests and assist them now they're getting older?

Who decided upon the time given for his walk? Mr Spreadsheet? Walks simply don’t function according to numbers on a chart. There are too many variables. I’d like the line manager to try to do it to time.

Com told me that loops 1+2 and 9+10 on a walk "should take the same time according to the computer". 1+2 take 15 minutes between them on a busy day, 9 takes 40 minutes on a quiet one. Tried explaining that it's a massive hill of detached houses with big front gardens compared to a flat row of garden-less terraces but he was having none of it

It was and got taken off again last year after what I'm told was years of never completing

Van sharing was one of the biggest mistakes the firm ever made. Half of our staff drive around together doing regs and large parcels, a ton of time is lost waiting for each other to finish, we naturally chat away and lose time, I used to get far more work done much more quickly on my own.

All to save on a few parcel duties. The petrol for 80 more vans wipes that saving out

I have never seen these deliveries, with oodles of time the postman idling away, patting the cats, bringing the wheelie bins in for the housebound, bladder empty, hydrated, warm and dry. Deliveries are brutal unrelenting and utterly exhausting. If you get 10 minutes to get a rest my God you earn it 1000 times over.
