Simon Thompson said in this meeting that we now deliver 1 letter per day for every other household....

I'm going to most houses, most days with an average of at least 2 'letters'. When I say 'letters' I mean any paper based item including; a magazine, a brochure, an addressed marketing leaflet....

I wish I was going to every other house - it would be a breeze!


I can only assume Thompson doesn't even account for all the other types of mail we deliver. When he says letter he just means mech.

Please don't tell me he's doing the revisions based on thinking we only deliver mech?

Most likely, even thought its been said that RM include all addressed 'letters' in their yearly volume , I just don't believe it,can't prove it of course

They only count the letters they get revenue from ie mailsort stamped they don't use the volumes of other DSA companies or the affect on our renuves or the fact that we have to do this by law as first class! By regulation and the fact that they are running rough shod over this our whole board and CEO and Chairman seam fine with it. Will they pick up the TAB!

The problem is, mail volume differs wildly from office to office. Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday here have been absolutely dead. Less than a 50% call rate on those days. Monday and Tuesday even less so. If you take our office and apply it as a general rule, the company would go bust as we are not delivering anywhere near the volume we were this time last year.

I’ve always mocked the ‘mail’s down!’ in the past, but it is undeniably true here. Worryingly so.

Of coarse he did we all know it,he should now be in a court of law and the books investigated as well as his sidekicks,but will parliament be brave enough to prosecute is another thing.

Don't know about IMPs but on iLSMs the DSA gets recorded as DSA, there's separate mail streams for bagged DSA and trayed DSA. Don't know if any manual letter DSA, flats or packets DSA get recorded separately or just get lumped together with the non DSA stuff
