If any delivery revisions are anything like our office they will be rolled back within 6 months, 50% of the walks that were revised ended up being 5 weeks behind, walks had 2 yorks of letters and 2 to 3 of small packets backed up next to fittings. It seemed to be a tick box exercise and had to be in place for that long to prove it had been done, a bit like clear your fitting and the walk hasnt failed, it doesn't matter if you bring half of it backredlen wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 14:57Royal Mail is ploughing on with these changes, be it the CWU agree or not.notts1862 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 14:42So more to the point what are the union doing about it at local level. Once these changes are in place, there will be no going back.
But let us talk some more is the response. That is not what people need to hear.
Feel the only option left now is an all-out strike instead of pussyfooting about with Juvenile pieces of paper and harsh language. Blink and it is all over, especially with introducing these new contracts of employment with zero consultation.

Nothing. We had a meetring with our area rep this morning and he said the usual same old same old, start time and finish time. Someone asked about bringing tracked back as tracked are just as un/important as mail and he said ask your manger. Someone asked about putting left over D2Ds back in the frame like we've been told to do and same again, start time, finish time. So our area reps plans are work to your time and go home regardless of what happens.notts1862 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 14:42So more to the point what are the union doing about it at local level. He really seems to think we're all strolling about and knocking off an hour early, doesn't he?
No clue about the reality of punishing workloads that are already unachievable any day, unless it's exceptionally light.

My delivery takes me 4 and a half to 5 hours on average and I consider myself fit and able to deliver at a very good speed. When the revision comes in I will have 766 more delivery points, the whole of another walk. This is 8 loops, each loop an average of 30 minutes. Between 2 of us that’s an extra 2 hours delivering on top of the 4 and a half hours we currently do. We will have 6 and a half hours delivery plus 40 minutes meal relief and let’s say 3 hours to prep it. Each pair in my office will need at least 10 to 11 hour days to complete. We will have a total of 1779 houses, 20% door to door and 80% driveways. How is this ever a manageable workload? Are we going to be supplied with bright red E scooters? or are we expected to run?
I’m finding this all very bizarre how we are really expected to have 2 hours more delivering which will take more time to prep so later out the door and probably won’t even fit into our already full to the brim van.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No one can be getting 8 loops of 766 calls, an entire walk, added to them
I don’t believe it
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

It's not an exaggeration - at our place, revision done but not been implemented yet - most duties are having 3 full walks between 2 people - average calls 2000+ !!Acca Dacca wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 17:13This has to be an exaggerationShirtbuttons wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 16:50My delivery takes me 4 and a half to 5 hours on average and I consider myself fit and able to deliver at a very good speed. Probably typed out by an American union busting company that Simon doesn't like to talk about.

Sorry if I don't understand, but what essentially happens with a mail centre revision? Surely come dispatch time if it's not done, it doesn't go? Theres only a finite speed that people/machines can sort at?notts1862 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 14:42So more to the point what are the union doing about it at local level. It's text 'scraped' (for want of a better word) automatically from a video that ST has made. The
speech recognition software is probably American or uses American spelling. Postman tidies it
up a bit but it's not perfect.
