I see Royal Mail Engineers (RM employ about 900 RME in the UK, and we are not RoMec ) are not listed on the poll, why?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Let me enlighten you..

RoMec engineers are not directly employed by Royal Mail but they are in the CWU but have separate pay negotiations with their employers. The work they carry out is mainly on building engineering services, ie lights lifts heating. RoMec are also responsible for the cleaners.

Royal Mail engineers are employed by Royal Mail are in the CWU and have the same pay negotiations as postmen ie we have been balloted for strike action. The work we carry out is in mail centres on the sorting machines, IMPs MTTs LSMs CFCs FCTs etc

Hope this has cleared the common misconception.
