misleading pension letter
You will all have received the newsletter on pensions by now PLEASE TAKE NOTE the part that tells you that you will have to start contributing again even if you are fully paid up is UNTRUE. I have e-maild them to-day and the reply i have received confirms this. This information makes you think it is compulsory to contribute up to 45 years and is totaly misleading, but then this is RM we are dealing with. Dont be sucked in!!!!!!

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Hi dean you can still go at 60 with the 23 years final salary scheme untouched, however you will have 12 years of the new scheme by then and as that scheme has a retierment age of 65 if you take that at 60 they will say you have gone 5 years early and will deduct 25% (5% for each year.). All heart they ain't.

Also 1 good bit (hard to find aren't they) Is that the current pension can be taken at 60 even if you carry on working. I hope I have got that right.jafferpants wrote:dean41 wrote:AYE VERY MISLEADING. I,M 48 AND WANT TO GO AT 60, ACCORDING TO THE LETTER IT STATES I CAN.BUT IS THIS WITHOUT ANY REDUCTION? Spot on tbt but of course if you did that you would be making the tax man very happy. If you stay after 60 you would be much better off leaving the pension untill you go.
