Aren’t Full Time given a Hour because technically there not authorised to leave the premises.

Used to come under “ Security Of The Mails”.

Or Mail Integrity..

Never heard of that. We get staff leave the site during their breaks, probably more so for early and late shifts where they've got the choice of various cafes and drive throughs (McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC). Also some staff will pop down the local petrol station during their breaks to put some petrol or diesel in their car

When I first started you had to get permission to leave the premises from the Shift Manage.
Half the staff going to the local was neither here or there.

Rose tinted glasses time it was a far better place to work back then.

I’ve been at my MC in Kates since Feb 17.

Never seen a Fire Drill.

Time is money; don’t want to waste money and time having us standing around during a Fire Drill

The area Rep and myself have just been informed that the business are removing the 20 minute relaxation break from all MC FT duties and the 10 minutes that LTFT get at start of February.

Do you have any further info on this?

They tried this many years ago and apparently they had to buy the 20 mins of you.

It was shelved but this time they feel lucky.

Apologies but what is an LTFT?
Thanks.

It’s true spoken to top union bod at work, he said “There is a proposal to remove the 20min break in mail centres but the union are looking into the legalities of it”

I was under the impression that LTFT means Less Than Full Time (part time). It does not make a lot of sense to remove 20mins from Full Time and then 10mins from Long Term Full Time? surely, it would be 10min for part timers? I could and have been know to be wrong. I work in Delivery, so MC's might be different.

Sorry typo error

They are removing all relaxation allowances which means the 20 mins that all FT and 10 minutes that PT get.

In other words no one will get any relaxation allowance from beginning of February

Correct, that’s what The senior reps were told in an online briefing in November.

Rmtv special 7th May 2018 Process Q&A.

Simon Barker, UK process operations Director, gave the following response to a question relating to meal relief and the SWW.
“In the way forward agreement, we have commitments of between five and seven hours, people get 30 minutes. Then between seven and eight hours 59 minutes they get 40 minute breaks and that will continue to be honoured.
Within the mail centres and RDCs we’ve Built in a relaxation allowance – its roughly 13 per cent but does change depending on the nature of the job…...”

I sent an email to Simon Barkers’ office asking for clarification;

“As you are aware I have sought assistance from our HR/People Team and they have advised that the relaxation allowance has always been built into the standard times measured to carry out indoor activity, generally at a level of around 11 – 13% depending on the activity being carried out i.e. lifting weight / standing etc.
