delivery staff can't leave the office till 9.30

nd, by the way, our driver sits at the mail centre with the missorts at 8.00am and is told that he cannot leave untill 8.30am even though all missorts are on his van.
So, me old mate, its all bollocks. This is RM management making YOU work strictly to your time. And before you tell me that "WE SHOULD DO THE JOB PROPERLY", I totally agree. But whats the f***ing point in sitting around ready to go for a handfull of missorts, when customers are waiting for the mail. Its a tiny percentage. Ask any customer if they want 90 pct of their mail at 10.30am or all of it at 11.30am and I will bet you that they will all say the former.

Yes making you wait is bollocks but due mail is covered by our license and the USO (universal service order), so your manager should pay someone to deliver them, the missorts being left undelivered by your manager doesnâ€™t make it right, its delaying mail even if its 1 or 1000 letters

There are similar restrictions in our office too, because of the mis-sorts. I can understand why, but then when I did some overtime in a neighbouring DO, there was no restriction at all - so all the guys there were leaving when they were thrown in - all so they could finish early by the sounds of it....

yup my office keeps us in till mis-sorts are all in.
it's to do with 'quality of service' scores or something.now correct me if i'm wrong but don't these scores affect the dums bonus?bigger scores bigger bonus

In my DO only certain people stay for the mis-sorts but all others just leave (even if the van has just arrived they will just leave without their mis-sorts) we really need a manager who can actually manage

we were being mad to start at 9.30 in the morning. Until someone complained about the missorts. Now we have been told to come in sharper just to stop as many missorts happening. They just change the goal posts to suit them selves. The main reason to bring you in later is to make you rush more so you dont claim as much overtime. Its as simple as that. Everyone shuould be made to help each other and noone should leave till everyone is sorted .

We can go when were ready but have to come back for the missorts at 9.30, everyone who goes out comes back as most of the walks are close to the do, I,ve heard (don,t know if its true) that they are scrapping the missort run in two weeks

Like to see that work in our office they can send me out on mine as long as they send someone out to do the rest of my delivery as i would'nt be able to fit it all in,also everyone could ask thier managers and i use that term in a very loose manner what they are gonna do with all the fines that they are gonna get for every letter thats delivered after 14.00hrs on the towns and 15.00hrs for the rurals so everybody just do job to the letter, pardon the pun, see the goal posts move again.

Sorry, what I said was that we cannot pysically get our missorts out to the other offices because we are so short staffed. And we are on the sorting at 7.00am and the guy leaves for the mail centre to meet other drivers at 7.15am. So we do not finish sorting until 8.00-8.15am now. There fore OUR missorts from our office sit in a york and leave at about 11.30am. So we are made to wait for a handfull of missorts while our missorts meant for the other branches are left. Then he has the missorts on his van at 8.00am, but is told he cannot leave the mail centre untill 8.30am. So he is told to wait on his van for half an hour. Can someone explain to me why???.
