What happened with the tricycles and electric trikes RM was trialling 2-3 years back?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑29 Dec 2022, 19:50If it results in lots of parcels going back out each day, won't it make all HCT deliveries non viable, as it's got to result in EVERY walk needing a van?

That is ridiculously cute

Obviously they have a set workload with no finish time. Seems like she was doing a 10 hour day.scoobymunster wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 10:57Do they have finish times or are they committed to clear whatever workload they are given?Nickvilla20 wrote: ↑29 Dec 2022, 19:54Most companies are paying a flat day rate now. I was told by an Amazon driver she was getting £165 a day plus milage. She reckons quite a few Parcelforce guys have moved over to Amazon.
Question is who would work for Royal Mail when the competition is now paying higher wages.

Gone off topic but I'd rather have an pedal assisted ebike than the HCT any day, the first one's ok but the rear cabinet is too small, second one thebaldrick wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 11:29What happened with the tricycles and electric trikes RM was trialling 2-3 years back?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑29 Dec 2022, 19:50If it results in lots of parcels going back out each day, won't it make all HCT deliveries non viable, as it's got to result in EVERY walk needing a van?

driver cabin is too exposed to the elements.
I'd prefer one of these https://eav.solutions/ decent driver cabin and large enough rear cabin, already used by some firms in UK cities UK apparently (from their website) but as always RM will be years behind the curve (Disclaimer - other bike manufacturers will be available!). Apparently it charges from a standard 13 amp wall socket, would just have to unplug the condom's coffee machine and run an extension lead
out through the window!

The Amazon guy that delivers to us says that drivers who repeatedly return with undelivered parcels are simply not offered shifts. In addition, that daily pay rate has to cover van hire, fuel and insurance. Not quite so attractive as it looks (rather like RM's "9% offer"...)

Oh well.
With regards to future CSP staffing levels, I'm now getting referred again to OH, to see if I am still covered by the Equality Act. I suspect that'll more likely mean that I am going to end up IHR out the door when the CSP hours get cut...

Our office has stickers for parcels that don't get delivered with 2 spaces on for different delivery attempts. It's like they're in place ready for the auto redelivery system. There's no other reason to have them as they are twice the size and on some parcels don't fit on.

I like how they are keeping us all well informed about all this. Not. It’s almost as if they’re making it up as they go along.
