New for Tracked - "Can't be safeplaced/neigboured"

Post by yellowbelly »

Had a couple of these yesterday - message came up on PDA saying the (sending) customer has directed
the item can't be safeplaced or given to neighbour. 739'd, job done.

Thank god. My neighbours an absolute crank and harasses my postie until he gives her my stuff.

Considering the "dont deliver to neighbour" sticker gets ignored/missed, its good that now it appears on the PDA.

I also had a couple today, one buy chance for a family of posties who've a nominated safeplace they were in today but what happens in future if they are at work, I have to bring it back to the DO which is 15 miles from their house. It's madness that we seem to have no control over the sending customer deciding that the parcel must only be delivered to the receiving customer. The parcel I delivered only appeared to be a small item of clothing.

So, do as instructed then,
unless you know your end customer a lot better than a standard instruction,
as if it goes wrong, its down to you.

Does it make any difference if you know your customer or not, as if it goes wrong then its still down to you for ignoring the instructions if they complain?

I had the joy of lugging a 15kg box on a 500m or so walk to a shop in an area that I can't park the van at (local buses and cycles only) and finding that the shop I had the box for was closed.

No problem, I thought, the shop a few units down might take it.

Sure thing, they said.

Then, when I scanned the box (as we are supposed to scan the item at its actual destination) it said "Under no circumstances should this item be left with a neighbour".

I wasted my time going there and I wasted their time asking them.

Then I am left standing holding a heavy box with nowhere to deliver it.

Highlight of my day.

Ignore everything, if they ain’t in it goes back, no neighbors, no safe place, teach em a lesson for not being in, I can’t remember anyone being sacked for not loosing a parcel.

I had one item the other day and would normally leave it in his safe place.
But obviously didn’t but wonder if it’s because they might have claimed they have not received item in safe place before.

Are these coming from certain big named retailers only or this something likely bought from the likes of ebay etc.?
