Run on the bank or a post office queue?

The City of London is campaigning to save one of the Square Mile's four remaining post offices - at New Bridge Street, near Ludgate Circus - which has been earmarked for closure by the Royal Mail. There is a petition on the Guildhall website and the City says that the four branches are especially busy at lunchtime, with queues of up to an hour at one branch in Moorgate. (This is close to Northern Rock and a source suggests, quite possibly seriously, that those queues before Christmas on television and in the papers were actually people trying to get to the post office.)

A decision is expected by May and I get the impression that closure is inevitable. The branch is part of the Crown network operated by Royal Mail itself, which is losing £70 million a year. “We have not so far been able to attract a franchise partner to take over the running of the loss-making Ludgate Circus [New Bridge Street] branch,â€

Why don't they just move all Northern Rock Branches into post offices, i'm sure Gordon would fund the cost, if not why not let :lfo and :cfo run northern rock they could do the same for them as they've done to us.

I think Northern Rock and Post Office can merge. It could be useful partnership.
