So why are the union re balloting then if the 12 week rule doesn’t matter?

It either matters or it doesn’t.

I haven’t gone in by the way because I’m staying dead behind the strikes I believe in and I also won’t cross a picket line but still can’t understand why the union would put us at a risk, however small that may be.

Because ballot results are only live for 6 months

In February that 6 months is over

We can still legally strike until february - it just won’t be protected

And have never stated that was not the case.
So why do you keep bringing it up?
You seem confused about what is legal and what is not

The ballot result, which lasts 6 months, keeps the strikes legal until February when the 6 months runs out - hence the reballoted

After 12 weeks there is no legal protection but any strike between 12 weeks and 6 month is still legal

I don’t understand what you don’t get about that

That non protection means you can be hauled in under the conduct code as an unauthorised absence for a breach of your contract of employment.

Going round in circles again

Everyone knows there is no protection now

Everyone understands that Royal Mail would need to take the same action against everyone rather than individuals

And even then they would be on shaky ground because they haven’t let us or the union know that would be their intention if we took action

Simply because it isn’t their intention

It’s not happening so please enjoy your Xmas and give us peace

I’ve said from the start the protection is fine after 12 weeks so don’t know why you think it’s only now acknowledged

It’s you who isn’t acknowledging that the strike action remains legal

It’s you who isn’t acknowledging that the strike action remains legal until mid Feb

Hence the reballot which will take several weeks to conduct

Then what is that you were saying was an offence for people to ask others to do on social media etc then?

You were implying the union were asking us to do something that was illegal

All they have asked us to do is to continue the strike today

Which you have now acknowledged is not illegal

The backlog will probably be cleared in the next month especially if no strikes are called in the next few weeks which the union have stated to create a calmness while talks proceed this will suit Thompson as well after that is anyone's guess :cuppa

That is personal to the individuals personal actions and nothing to do with any ballot process.

You can be prosecuted for shouting SCAB on the Picket or on social media, but that has nothing to do with the Ballot process either.

Please confirm what it is you are saying is an offence

You weren’t talking about people being called the s word

This thread is nothing to do with that
