IMHO Thatcherism and New Labour are the Politics of Self and Greed, whereas Socialism is the politics of Society and Social Justice. Somewhere in between is the ideal.

IMHO grabbing everything to benefit yourself, or giving everything up for the general good, neither is right nor are they lofty goals to be aimed for, a balance of Self, Group and Task is the best approach.

Poltics not useful for th Postie. Perhaps not but it is cerainly affecting our job prospects.

Unfortunately Politics affects everything in life from before birth to death and everything in between. (Child Benefits, Inheritance Tax), including how much tax you pay, what laws get passed, what job protection there is, what provisions you can make for old age, what business friendly policies get passed, how old you have to be before you can drink, smoke, die for your country, have sex, when you can give up work, when you have to give up work, the list is endless.
