Personally, I will be going back to work. I’m not continuing to lose money while no progress is made and the changes are rammed in regardless.
Exactly what Thompson banked on you doing.

I will stick it out every step of the way.

shes spouting the same s**t on cwi facebook all the time - management plant - plain and simple !
Firstly, I’m a he.
Secondly, I’m not on Facebook.
Thirdly, look at my join date.

Seems a pretty long game approach to register for an account here years ago, only to make use of it now. :chuckle

When will people realise you pick a side, cwu or Royal Mail, you then stick by that side, there are a million reasons to cross a picketline, but not one excuse, people saying they can’t afford to strike in our office are cutting off and refusing to work their days off? So obviously it’s not about the money or they would be working every bit of overtime they can?
I guess when everything is bought in by executive action then there will come a point when it's pointless striking to stop things that are already in ?

The union have been useless. They have messed up at every opportunity and then wasted who knows how much by paying for 17,000 people to have a jolly in London. They missed their opportunity and have been made to look ridiculous by Royal Mail. I am sad to say this job is done.
Also this is nothing like being in the trenches. The fight was over pay and terms and conditions. Not in anyway close to being the same🙄

Then we strike til it gets reversed, nothing they bring in will ever work if their entire workforce aren't on side

Not for this to sound disingenuous but I think if you’ve given up on striking then you should definitely be looking for a new job. This job won’t be worth doing if they bring in the commitment to deliver procedure.

I’ll be striking until either resolution or I find a new job. The sad thing is - they’ve made a decent, rewarding job absolutely poisonous.
I agree we should continue striking but to tie strike breaking in with a person's ability to do the job correctly is pure idiocy. You should of just kept it at find a new job 🤦🏾‍♂️

completely agree , im losing faith in our union now , Dave sounds like he is running out of options and in the new year its over for us. Cant really see anything happening from now until new year RM are just going to bite the bullet. I will be voting no in the next ballot as it will be pointless

The real question is are we in a better position now than in August?

Answers on the back of a postcard to arrive no later than December 2023.

It's like North Korea in here. Question the union and you're automatically assumed to be management. Dare have a different opinion - must be management.

This place is full of heroes that talk about being in the trenches. Half of them wouldn't survive five minutes. And don't get me started on the poor grammar and punctuation we see on here.

So true. The same people that are saying that we should all stick together and calling people strike breakers that are going back to work…. Are the same people that were higher in seniority than me and doing 2 hour rounds, while mine took 4. Never did they once offer to do some of my loops to even it up. So, they think I’m going to go broke for them.

Personally, if I were playing it like Chess, I'd like to see a lull in strike action in the New Year until Lent wherein we reballot, recoup, re-organise and let Royal Mail be shown-up for the liars they are when the continuing lack of service, B&H of staff and revision failures that they've falsely blamed on Covid and now strike-action can be logged, publicised and utilised by the Union as Public Relations exercise before a new tranche of action at Easter.

The only way to get some sort of acceptable agreement is if there is a long term plan for IA. One solid week per month. A day here and there is almost pointless
I've been saying something similar from the very start. This union has too many members that are struggling financially not on full time contracts to start with, it's quite difficult for the ones that are i accept all this. Then there's the other issues going on that's hurting us all financially without stating the obviously.

That said i think we've let off Thompson lightly underestimated him with his desire to achieve his goal. If you want to win this dispute you have to hit them hard not mess around like this union have being doing. They knew full well what the consequences would be should Thompson win.

To get what you want it's going to hurt emotionally and financially and you have to be determined to carry it through. If they continue to throw the kitchen sink at us, we have to respond equally. Imo though we should of set our stall out and smashed them from the start whatever it takes. These odd day strikes are completely useless Thompson is the type of character that will just bulldoze through them regardless.

No point in complaining about anything we all obviously want to achieve what we believe will be a good outcome.
But we're stuck in the middle of nowhere now not knowing what to do next. They won't back down from the bulldozing tactics if it's not met with real force. Just imo

If the 'doubters' are not determined to win this battle of attrition and give in to the bullies, don't complain about the outcome.
You have in an a roundabout way, agreed to it by turning your back on your colleagues who refuse to give in!

Expect Thompson to do his job, get changes in by end of financial year - take his massive bonus and clear off. We hope the other board members, share folk, think the same as us, got my doubts. The strike is hurting money wise, but im gutted we cant deliver xmas - coz we are great with cards and presents, always have been. All depends where the RM and CWU's breaking point is. Who pulls Thompsons strings ?
The non executive CEO pulls Thompson's strings. He ruined the union at British Airways. He's called Ken/Keith Williams and has sat back and said virtually nothing since this dispute began. Thompson is just doing what he's told by him and the board. Dave Ward keeps mentioning a battle going on in the R.M boardroom, i think that's nonsense. The board/directors etc are all in on this. They just want maximum profits, by whatever means. That's why getting rid of Thompson achieves absolutely f**k all. He's just actioning their instructions.
