not the answer why ? , it would be pointless to finish any i/a on the 24th Dec when we have live ballots till Jan 13th or whatever it is , as we would clear the back log by time the new ballot would kick in and thompson would put his finger up at us , and in the new ballot they could inc a work to rule which would f**k them even more , but we need to keep the pressure on before this .
They don’t care about backlogs they have already seen off Black Friday, cyber Monday and are prepared to see out Xmas , they are also in it for the long game and we’ve been striking since September, don’t tell me it’s working because it isn’t.
Yep. If he’s not budging after Black Friday and Christmas then it would be illogical to cave in in January.
Strikes have done little except lose Royal Mail and posties money. I think the powers that be have accepted these short term losses as a price to pay for their end game.
Union need to get lawyered up and figure out rolling strikes. It’s the only thing that got RM shook so far. We could do it indefinitely and not many people would break.
If you’re trying to solve this through striking then it’s the only way IMO. Constant state of strike and the only way of doing that is through minimal loss to members.

I believe the problem is where there's many more staff working in multiple different functions, for example you might you might have someone from deliveries doing docket at the local MC. You might have someone from processing doing docket in distribution (or vice versa). Unless the CWU has a 100% accurate list, it'd be too easy for RM to challenge it in court, and potentially get a strike ballot thrown out

they might not be bother about backlogs but companies and customers are and at the end of the day they are losing shareholders money , and we are in it for the long game as well , and it is working and needs to continue , but its up to you and what you think . but imo its him or us and i dont want what the company wants so its s**t or bust .
