It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Also there is a ton of posts from managers on Workplace defunking what is going on and are trying to help.

Oh wait-that's not actually true-and posting about it on Workplace-does not suit their agenda-it's just the other s**t they post does.

Sick is sick, Covid or not.
We are 'living' with Covid now.

Wait, is this only strike days you are not being paid for or regular working days too? I get it if you phone in sick on a strike day, but wow it sounds like they are going full nuclear.

What if you're a strike breaker who happens to be sick on a strike day? How do you get it? If you're sick, you're sick, regardless of the day. I shouldn't have to say this, but you do not choose when you're ill.

I phoned in today sick and then follow up call to say come in on light duties or no sick pay. I said I’m to ill to attend so unauthorised day it is!
