How much release time do Reps get?

Post by drb »

My rep has a dedicated duty in that he,s always in the office.
He does postie,s bags about 9-10am,but because our distribution office
is within our delivery office he hands out keys and tabs assists one SA firm
and hands out the docket,(preserving seniority and agregate).
Anyone else?

 Depends on what's goin on. My weasel don't like me bookin release time so I book it extended delivery, I'm gonna change that at the first opportunity but I got to be cagey. I get released for agreed meetings but because of our industrial action I've been going to loads of meetings in my own time.

If a member needs representation and asks for it than you SHOULD be released for
that member.Check the IR framework.
Even Thatcher would allow members this right even after the miners went back to work

Tight arses!

Funny enough,or not being the case, before the negotiations for office cuts were put on hold, our DOM wanted a meeting but would not pay release time for my rep who had the area rep with him ready,so they didn't bother going.
The DOM's excuse was it will only last half an hour

I get an hours docket every week for 'facility time' am supposed to be released every week for a resource meeting with the DOM but i refuse if he doesn't get my walk prep'd, why should we lose out just because they want a meeting? I will also book docket if i have to represent some one for sick/attendance etc and allways allways make sure that the walks are covered first before attending any grievance meetings!!
If you think they can get away with it then they can! fight for your rights!!

Facility time is dependant on the number of staff in your office.

I got 7 and half hours a week with 165 staff. I did my facility 5-6am.

I get an hour a day and if any H&S problems crop up then it's adhoc.

Being a sub-rep I had a load of trouble getting release for a meeting once one of the manager-types(god knows what his job title is because it keeps changing) he started quoting the industrial framework and spouting bullshit. even when I got my rep involved he didn't want to hear about it. Me and my rep had to get the area rep involved and then even at that level he wanted the area rep to write to him. lets just say we didn't stand for any of it and I attended the meeting and got paid for it. I'm dreading the upcoming training I've got.

:arrrghhh Funny how you seem to get release time when they want something ain't it?
I got 160 in my unit & I do a full dly, then get the 3rd degree if I have to cut off
due to conduct code/sick/cases or just having to be a social worker because they've
pissed someone off & he/she needs to gob off at someone, & its usually the unit Rep!!
I have daily chats with my DOM at my frame nice enough that is, but he tends to forget
the longer he keeps me talking the more I get behind and the nature of the beast is to
get your arse into gear to make up the time, but now & again I just say Oh Bollocks
when 12:20 comes thats me off home ( due to no M/R I know you dont have to tell me! )
O/T Don't mention the O/T word that comes out of the budget then we won't make any saving
& we won't get any bonus!! s**t what am I doing its bloody Sunday for christ sake & Im going
on about work get a life you arsehole!!!!!!!! As a Unit rep its hard to just leave it at work is'nt it!!!
HAVE A NICE DAY :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Don't forget to get your facility time written into your P318 too. I had that and that way there's no confusion.
