Parceforce Owner Driver

Post by Stormproof »

This is on the RM jobs site

Job Description

Do you want to be self-employed, running your own business? Do you have your own van? Can you produce a full driving licence with less than 6 penalty points?

Parcelforce Worldwide are now recruiting Owner Drivers. You will be self-employed, collecting and delivering parcels. Services are provided on a six-day week (Monday to Saturday). Your van will need Parcelforce livery.

Hours of Work : 6 days a week over Monday to Saturday

The actual amount you get paid for each parcel depends on the route and delivery time. Average on target earnings are in the region of £35-£40,000 per year.

At the end of each week we total the number of deliveries and collections you have done and produce an invoice for you – after checking and signing this is correct, payment is made into your bank account.

You should expect to arrange cover for the route when you take a holiday or you are sick.

Please note, once our maximum number of applications has been reached, this vacancy will be withdrawn.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Not just Parcel Farce, the rest of Royal Mail will soon follow, with no holiday pay, no sick pay, no pension, unatainable delivery targets that mean you're lucky to make the minimum wage. I know because my previous employment was like that.

My mate works for parclefarce,he's not an owner driver, but he has to work 10hr days.
Wouldn't touch parclefarce with a barge pole.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I think New Zealand had a similar system, I wa sthere in April and was chatting to a Postwomen there and she told that her job was sub contracting, maybe a Rural thing, I don't know much about City as I didn't have chance to speak a City postie.

I am very GLAD I didn't transfer to Parcelforce when it was split off from Royal mail letters, I must admit at the time the money was tempting as it was about £30 more than my basic wage, I took the long term of "better the devil you know".
