I'm not one to blindly spout venom at ST just because he's been the person in charge through all this, but I think it's becoming clearer by the day he's massively underestimated the resolve of the CWU and his strategy of not backing down is just digging him a bigger hole.
A true CEO who cared about the business would never have let it get to this stage.

It should never have but I think it has dawned on him that there will be no victory for anyone in this battle.norm wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 13:45I'm not one to blindly spout venom at ST just because he's been the person in charge through all this, but I think it's becoming clearer by the day he's massively underestimated the resolve of the CWU and his strategy of not backing down is just digging him a bigger hole.

As to back pay I would rather have 1% more going forward than the Back pay as it will enhance our pensions and will go forward forever more on our wages.

Going to be working with vulnerable adults, a total change so have to have an enhanced DBS, could take 6 - 8 weeks, a pay cut but going on strike one day a week has shown me I can afford to do that. I am actually looking forward to doing something totally different.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 14:41What's your new job/pay etc out of interest sp ?Surreypostie wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 13:15I have, it is the long wait now for the checks to be done, could still be here at the end of January god forbid.Halfhappy wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 10:24I thought you had accepted another job?Surreypostie wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 09:52£80??? £246 gross this week for 2 days of IA, fortunately, I can afford that.

Very admirable and it is a good cause for people less fortunate than ourselves.Surreypostie wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 15:10Going to be working with vulnerable adults, a total change so have to have an enhanced DBS, could take 6 - 8 weeks, a pay cut but going on strike one day a week has shown me I can afford to do that.
