If part of the RM plan is to flood social media, like this place, with Simon's little helpers to try and undermine support for the fight...

...they must realise by now that it's not bloody working! :wave

Come at us, Si. Come on.

There have been loads on here recently doing just that and I usually don’t bite but the tactics currently being used are a disgrace.

So I’ve been playing them at their own game and saying really silly things back to them.

Some of the abuse being thrown at people on here is tottally out of order. not you personally but think tbt is going to be banning alot of people very soon.. how many times does he have to remind people of the rules of the site.

I think the subtle give away, in messages posted by stooges, is the disconnect from the union. They talk about the union as if they're not part of it. They say things like "They want our support", as if to somehow suggest that the union is asking the poster to do something that has nothing to do with the poster. That their support would be for some separate cause, with no direct benefit to the poster or in the their interests. It's just immediately makes me think this poster does not see themselves as part of a union.

Spoke to 3 lads who together decided to go in today. All with young families and down to their last pennies. All have asked our union rep for help to be met with same "we're all in the same boat" answer. You can see the anguish they're are going through. Speaking to them it was very hard for me to feel any sort of anger towards them crossing the picket line.

Peoples savings are getting exhausted, mental health being kicked from pillar to post. You can talk about the future but for many its about the here and now.

So Royal Mail AND the CWU get this sorted, please.

Why does this have to become so toxic all the time?
Why do so many people have so little empathy for the plight of their colleagues?
How do any of us know what a co-worker is going through that might force them to make a choice we may not like.
Instead of calling each other managers and cowards and stooges how about trying to find out if you can help some-one who is struggling.
Have some empathy for others,i'm sure most of us are famillar with the saying walk a mile in some-one elses shoes.
I know i'll get called all sorts for posting this but it needs saying and I need it off my chest.
Thanks for reading

Indeed 100%

Interestingly we got a Tracked 24 delivered today by a Yellow viz RM van driving agency/ new starter.
So he’s me on strike earning nothing where Our replacements are raking it in.

For the record my Mother received a T48 today as well.
so what does that tell you about the futility of the strikes now?

Thats the whole point my friend some people really need to wind their neck in some of the personal abuse on here is getting beyond belief. personally now about £1200 lost but will never cross a picket line but starting to believe if your freezing an not eating this job ain't worth dying for esp people with families. an now i will hear were all the same but were not. some of us have savings guess most don't as people do live day 2 day im very fortunate i could last for a good while but pretty sure majority CANNOT. unless there is a clear strategy from cwu soon how they think this will end im sure alot of people will drift back...

It turns toxic because, and I've said this before, posting onto a site, that you're crossing the line, is always going to get a reaction. The people breaking the strike can't possibly be, out of the tens of thousands of strikers, the only people who have families, mortgages, are part time, have only the one income, are panicking about redundancy, are struggling, etc.... We all are, and I suppose just hearing some one listing the issues that you yourself are currently facing, and ill with, as reasons for completely undermining the fight against losing your terms, conditions and job, is maybe just poking a lion with a stick. It's not hard to understand. We're all emotional at the moment.

If you cannot afford the war is find other employment as this job will and has been a series of wars it will not change till your on minimum wage some will fight to the death if the fight is not for you plenty of other jobs at minimum wage. And good luck may you find a true gem of a job some employers are very decent and kind people.

I have 3 young children my mrs is at uni these lads at breaking point iam at breaking point but I can see futhur past my end of my nose
There’s other jobs out there and help out there they can get at the moment

I’d rather be skint die on my feet than work for these Royal Mail twats at the moment
So you’d rather see Royal Mail go completely under and 115,000 people lose their jobs.
You’re complaining about there’s other jobs out there for these lads maybe it’s you who should be looking for other jobs if you’re no longer happy with your employment.
We are a private company and like any company whether I or anyone else like it is all about money for shareholders.

There are very few jobs out there that pay as well, yes there is a few but there are also very limited number of jobs where we get the perks we get.
Paid breaks, very good sick pay. And to be fair the wage isn’t awful.
You mean the perks that were hard fought for and if rm get their way , about to be removed.

Embarrassing.
Okay I’ll side with you, if you show me where it’s says that out paid breaks are being removed and the new sick pay is good, everyone I know gets minimal or statutory sick pay and we’re complaining about losing 3 days of our 2nd absence.
Or is it that people won’t be able to have 2 extra weeks leave every year???

People are starving, cold, homeless and we’re complaining about minimal changes to sick!!! In my mind you’re embarrassing.

Maybe the union should stop worrying about minor issues and try and sort out the bigger redundancy issues!!
For me the compulsory redundancies is the main issue .
Don’t worry about that mate. It’s one of Thompson’s idle threats. There will be enough going through natural wastage and voluntary.
