I honestly think the way Thompson and his "team" are behaving is strengthening resolve, not weakening it.

Absolutely , My colleagues and I have never felt such anger towards management . We worked all through the pandemic and in my workplace we lost three colleagues to Covid . To now present us with a "deal" that's got compulsory redundancies attached to it is completely and utterly unacceptable .

If you treat your staff with respect and value them you will get results. Work with your staff, make them feel valued and thank them for their hard work sometimes. If this was to happen along with a decent pay rise, which isn’t really the issue for me anymore, it’s more to do with the lies and working towards totally unachievable targets what I have a problem with. I’m 36 years in and always done a decent days work, day in day out in all weathers. I now feel totally demoralised and worthless working here in the last 18 months. I’ve never seen so many demotivated people. I’m sure this damage will take years to repair if ever at all. We have lost hard working long term grafters this year who have just had enough. When I started nobody left until they retired. What a great job and service it was. If a customer told me they had a letter not arrive on time it was rare and hard to believe. We was the best postal service in the world. We never left a letter behind, only at Christmas and then it would be taken out on the second delivery around 10 45am. Everybody was happy and the job got done.

The harder you work here the more they want you to do and I won’t do docket on principle. What firm has overtime rates that are lower than your normal rate. A friend of mine worked his day off and was appalled at the very little extra he took home. The whole place needs a massive overhaul and needs to recognise who are actually earning the money for them by sheer hard work. It’s been doom and gloom since I started. Nothings ever good enough and you can always do a bit more. This has to stop and the workers need to feel wanted and valued if there’s going to be a business left. The worst decision ever was van sharing in my opinion. How much time gets wasted when one partner is faster than the other? Waiting around at the end of a loop in the cold and rain getting cold. What another great idea. Come on please, it’s not rocket science. We are delivering a few dozen parcels and a couple of thousand letters. It’s not hard. Oh I do apologise, I forgot we are now a parcel company.
What a terrible situation we find ourselves in.

It all depends on what tactics the union employs and how angry the membership feels .
