Walks in the frames in delivery offices are rammed, and loads off full mail in boxes underneath the frames are rammed..
People are not getting post for weeks..

I don't think there's much else behind the profitability of GLS. No brilliant business strategy - just wringing money out of the workforce. Our line managers have said several times in the past that 'we are now a parcel company that also delivers letters'. They first said this 2 years ago...
So it is nothing new for Thompson to say this as I guess it's a message that's been put out there for a while now....
That said, they have made it clear they see letters as a hindrance, but I just don't know to what extent. To the extent they would like to pass off the letter business to someone else, or to the extent that they want to spend as little time on letters as they can possibly get away with.
