What a load of crap, no wonder its postal shirkers like you that are dragging the company down, it may be a 500 year old company but some of you are still living 500 years ago. The company needs to move on, if it leaves you, or myself, behind so be it but it must modernise and get rid of that union mentality that so many spout off about, "oh but the uso" bol***ks you couldn't careless about it. Its just touted as another excuse to whinge and whine about how hard done by postal shirkers are. Get out in the real world and see how hard done by you really are. Whoever is in charge is going to have to get rid of staff, wake up and smell the coffee, letters are dropping off, but hey dave ward will save us, will he hell, no company can keep same level of staff with falling volumes. Some people are just stupid to see that. Reality is a bitter pill for some.
And before you.go on, yes I've never posted here, been a long time lurker, but fed up of the stupid statements that people keep on putting up so thought what the hell join them.
Sooner the deal is accepted the better instead of pointless trip to London to feed wards ego.

Dave Ward has admitted that through natural attrition and the current VR scheme over the next few years with the pathway to change agreement that the headcount of postal workers would decline slightly.
The current situation we are in now financially is down to mis-management of the books over the last couple of years.
Agency workers are being flooded in the system in great numbers at the minute while the system is jamming up. How much have the company thrown at VRs for management this year and needless bonuses to help on strike days. Does that sound like a job that is dying on its knees. Allot of areas are massively short staffed now.
The union have said the company needs to change direction in the coming years...
Granted the way we work in the future needs adjusting but this attack staff at all costs and the throwing money anyone that isn't union paying blue shirt to win this dispute is causing more problems financially than the unions stubbornness to change.
Don't forget the 500 odd million the shareholders received in the last couple of years too.
Going to war with life long loyal posties who have been overworked and underpayed for the last 5-10 years was always going to effect potential profits too.

S0 I've got 20 odd years of O/T where I should have also been given added Annual leave as well,is that what you're saying Zeena! As O/T is not a contracted hours which accumulates our next years annual leave. O/T must then accumulate it's own Annual Leave entitlement. Thanks for bringing that to our notice, looks like we won't be in next year, as well all be taking our back dated holidays.

Rather than looking at the front line staff that actually delivery the service to make cost cutting. How about looking at these paper shuffling managers? You could save a lot of money with no one noticing a difference in service levels. Anyway just a thought
