Compulsory redundancy proposal for the CEO

1. Have you taken a profitable company and made it loss making?

2. Have you shown a lack of business vision and instead looked to make profits from the terms and conditions of your loyal workforce?

3. Have you put short term profits ahead of the well being of your employees and the future success of the company?

4. Have you enter negotiations with your employees trade union with the intentions of never reaching an agreement?

5. Have you spent an unhealthy amount of time on the workplace app trying to break the loyal, hard working employees?

If yes, then we will post your P45 using the much treasured 6 days one price USO! But as you have worked less than two years for the company you unfortunately won't be eligible for redundancy payment.

Surely if they have enough applicants for voluntary redundancy this won’t be needed?
I would have thought so ...

Not sure how far they would get with that criteria as it would surely be classed as discrimination.
Again I would have thought so! If we were just a parcels company Thompson might get away with it, but we're not!

Which costs RM more - voluntary or compulsory redunancies? If the first VR exercise was oversubscribed, just do another one!

Whilst it wouldn't surprise me whatever criteria they used for redundancies something tells me its just another scare tactic. All us none drivers and stage 1 and 2s will be barging our way across the picket lines

So because I've been an exemplary employee with very little sick leave, no bad conduct or complaints, I will be overlooked for any redundancy?
If so better start pissing customers off and phone in sick and get a stress note from the GP!

Complaints, collisions and crashes within RM will be through the roof in the next few weeks, as everyone tries to get to the top of the league. I’m burning my driving license as we speak!

Why does anyone care what the proposed criteria is?
I thought we were winning this dispute. Therefore there won't be any compulsory redundancies.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

If RM can successfully argue that the job without driving no longer exists I think that they could get away with it. It makes you wonder what have they got planned for those that remain.
A mon-fri USO would require us to deliver parcels sat-sun on a rota, non drivers would not be able to do this.

Itd be hard for them to say you arent capable to do the job if you dont drive when you have been doing the job for years whilst not driving.

They would need to get rid of van sharing which means doubling the number of vans, doubling the size of area to keep the vans and double the usage of fuel

If I lose my job due to not having a license that I never needed when I took the job I will be taking them all the way at tribunal.

If it’s such a required skill ( even though can do the job van sharing without the need to ) will they be offering to fund lessons/training?

Would they also need to prove there is no position within the entire business that someone who doesn’t drive could do instead?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
