Getting rid of the callers office is the most backwards move royal have made yet, people are worried about how much they will have the next day especially on towns and thinking the amount of Doorstepping of parcels Will increase. When this is brought in you do exactly as you do now, you cut off, take your breaks, don’t doorstep. If they want to pay you for wasting time for this stupid idea be our guest, We still get paid at the end of the week for 37hrs

Until there is a national agreement(like that matters anymore)I won't doorstep anything, unlike most I work with I refuse to sign specials and leave stuff in bins.most are still putting cv19 on specials and putting through the door.

The people that work in our collection point are usually the ones that have had to come off delivery due to I'll health or some kind of disability, there's no other work for them at the DO. Will they lose their jobs if it closes?
If that's the case there are several offices in our area that have at least one or two employees that fall under the DDA.

Unfortunately they can't do any other work, and god knows what they will do if they lose a job in royal mail.

This is another attack from Thompson that even the weak and vulnerable are kicked out.

Or delivered to a Post office.
Or delivered to a neighbour.
Or you buy a parcel box.

I have yet to meet a member of the public who enjoys visiting a RM CSP.
Not that I am in favour of closing them.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

We are going to be delivering parcels till late like other parcel companies - through newer recruits and volunteers (there will be some because OT will dry up).

We shall also be delivering on Sundays! Ditto - above

Moreover, they can deliver to a neighbour, a box, another place nearby, local collect etc.

Furthermore, royal mail will have huge parcel dispensers in DOs where there is room for them. Or supermarkets and so on.

Just like other parcel companies.

* It is not for us to worry about a few customers that are not going to be pleased. Just like clashcity said, most of them prefer you to doorstep than traipse to DOs to collect parcel...
** Just like we complained about box collections and parcel collections from customers - these are very reasonable things and the vast majority are happy. Days of Postman Pat is gone - we are not a public service anymore.

Hey ho!

Our might go because it only opens for about 3 hours a day. But I don't think it is feasible to close all of them by January 2023.

We don't even have a dedicated caller's office staff anymore but one of ours still get the PHG allowance for working there ages ago...

Any update on this? I've heard nothing from management or from the CWU.

What about Private Box collections?
As a PO BOX Customer I have been sent a list of changes to terms and conditions.

Among them "Addition of a provision that we reserve the right to change the opening times and location of the office from which a customer collects their PO Box Mail."

Could that be connected I wonder?

The vast majority are happy about collecting rammed boxes that were first supposed to be under 50 items, then under 100 items, and now under infinity items? The vast majority are happy about the complete and utter waste of time of collecting parcels from people that don't have a parcel, are still in bed late in the morning with a collection booked and/or haven't even bothered to tape up the box? Even when the company is making no money from it?

Maybe next time you should use "we" with caution.
