Told today by manager that he would choose who goes on the preference exercise and that every day we strike more names will be added but on compulsory terms and on minimum pay out, again he said he would be choosing.
But then again my manager is a f***ing c***.

And a scaremonger too....
Maybe he is just trying to scare people into coming on strike days

Are ldv still on the go would we get a modern equivalent of a crew bus.

LDV went out of business right before P&L came in. When owner-operator comes in, maybe non-drivers will get sent out on the buses again

It was lovely. Would be interesting to cost it out now like that. Ok would need more pkt deliveries but 2 bikes vs 1 van and say 1 pkt driver for 6 van share walks who also drops their bags off. With the price of vans and fuel and all acociated costs surely taking out 5 vans and replacing with 12 bikes would be more cost effective. It is nice now though that on foul weather days, you can take a spare jacket and waterproofs in the van with you.

Would be great if you could do the round you live on and instead of having to go back to the depot you can go straight home....

but then again the last 30 minutes of the day we barely have to do anything - just drive back to the depot and unload and get paid for it.

You talking about the Sherpa or the double rear wheel one? Sherpas were awful. I'm sure they ran on rigid axles with no suspension lol.
Speaking of bad vans, whose office has the oldest longest mileage heap of crxp in the country. I'll start with 12 yrs old 139k mile combo.
